sshg_giftfest was one of the absolute best - such a huge group of participants and some amazing fic and art to lose oneself in. I had an absolute ball writing for it, and reading and gazing that what my fellow SSHG shippers were inspired to create.
I can now reveal that my own modest effort was a gift for![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
rayvyn2k, called The Guilded Splinter. I was delighted to know that she wrote my amazing gift as well - Imagine The Possibilities. I think we both had a lot of fun!
I was very nervous, since it had been absolutely years since I participated, and I was thrilled at all of the positive feedback. Thank you to all who took the time to write something wonderful about the story - I'm over the moon Rayvyn and others enjoyed it.
Please go and read if you haven't, and stare at the awesome art and be inspired.
And speaking of inspiration, I just finished binge-watching Boardwalk Empire, and while I'm left gasping and bereft, I'm also totally in love with Steven Buscemi and this incredibly dark, violent, sexy world these characters inhabited. I'm always late for the party, but I loved every mad moment of it.
Finally, HAPPY BIRTHDAY,mywitch, you beautiful, crazy, perfect soul! I hope you are having a wonderful day and will have a wonderful year.

I Told You I Would Be Back
Dec. 15th, 2016 12:01 amI have always said that one of the biggest compliments I can receive is art based on a story I've written. Well, when mywitch started taking request for her 25 Days of Christmas, a spectacular Advent Calendar of illustrations (if you haven't seen them you need to hop over to her journal immediately if not sooner. It's the best Christmas present in fandom!), I rather shyly told her about this idea for an illustration. It was given to me a few mornings ago. You know how DMuse is - he shakes me awake with all this smut running through my head.
Long story short - I told Mywitch, who said, "Oh, you gotta write the story, and I'll illustrate it!"
It didn't take long, and the result is not one art piece but FOUR! And they are all absolutely as I saw the story in my head. That mywitch is a miracle worker.
The story and art are called A Green Thought In A Green Space, and it's uber NSFW in both word and art, but man, we had fun! Please go and see just how amazing she is.
I would like to add a huge thank you tostgulik, the queen of betas, for her brilliant work in such a short time. That lady is an amazing editor. Thank you, Jules!
The title came from an episode of The Tudors. I don't remember what they were talking about; like this story, it just seemed like a good idea at the time.

How Quiet and Dull The House Now Seems...
Nov. 8th, 2016 01:28 pm...now that mywitch has left for her new adventures on the road. We spent over a week in her sunny presence and it was wonderful. I got to watch her working on her giftfest art, and all I can say it is in a class by itself. She is the best company, and showered both me and TheHubs™ with gifts and laughter and that beautiful smile of hers. She also taught us Farkle, which I fell in love with and actually even won once! We are going to invest in some dice to play here.
I also got to meetsnapebraille4tu, who is the most adorable person ever and I will admit to having a major friend crush on. What an absolute doll. She made the most beautiful dream catcher for all her friends, and it will be treasured for the rest of my days.
We were treated to a day at WWHP, which delivered like you read about. My head is still swimming with the awesomeness of it all. When I try to describe it, words truly fail me, except to say that it was so real I could see the Wizarding folk behind all the curtained buildings, and feel the magic in the air.
I'm sitting here in my special HP smoking hat, waiting for some excellent Lemon Vanilla Pu-erh tea to steep (a souvenir from Savannah, where we spent a couple of very informative and enjoyable days withhelenarickman), and think I'll spend most of the day chilling before I have to get paperwork ready for tomorrow.
I have major voter anxiety, but I've done my civic duty and that's all I can do. I truly hope that things will turn out well for all.
When I have a little more time and energy, I have to show you some of the awesome goodies that resulted from this visit. I am truly rolling in the sexiest swag!!! But right now I'm experiencing a bit of 'friend drop'. How blessed I am that my friends are so awesome that I miss them so terribly when we are parted.
