Nov. 19th, 2014 12:00 amAnother busy day helping Mom out with bits and pieces. We shredded about a million sheets of confidential waste (TheHubs™ quipped that he felt like he was in a spy movie), taking away more junk (4 large black bags, two end tables and a large mirror). We also found some goodies that she didn't want any more, like some old English pound notes and some potentially moderately valuable old coins, my dad's pocket watch, and some lovely old bits of silver flatware.
I learned a new knitting stitch (to me) and have created a really pretty moss-green scarf. Knitting is surrounding me. We bought our turkey today, and it's thawing in the fridge.
It was pretty darn cold today for SC - and it's flipping cold here right now.
The biggest shock today was that I went onto
hpfanficfanpoll and saw to my amazement I am nominated in a few categories - Best AU AND best smut for Who's Watching The Watchers and best dark fic for The Sin Eater. I am thrilled and want to thank the dear soul who nominated me. There is a really healthy amount ot nominations for our dear ship - please go and read and, of course, vote.
Tomorrow through Friday is work - and thankfully lots of it. I'm off to bed.

Nov. 9th, 2014 08:41 pmKind of a strange day. I don't want to go into it here, but plans went awry a bit. I baked bread; I cleaned the bathroom.
I finished the Dr. Who Infinity scarf. I think I'll make another one. It turned out really nice.
Oh, and I watched Episode 8 of Downton Abbey. Now to wait until the Christmas special.

Nov. 1st, 2014 10:10 pmI have such great intentions, but I'm as forgetful as a very forgetful thing. Being the month that hosts Thanksgiving, November always seems to me a time to accentuate the positives, and nothing does that better than a good old monthly round of SED. I love SED, when I remember to do it.
For those going 'SED? What the...what?" It stands for Something Every Day, and it's a way of posting those good things that happen in your life. They don't have to be earth-shattering; just a reminder of something that happened on any given day that was good and positive. And yes, I nearly forgot. Thank goodness I have a Muse who does provide me with a little nudge from time to time.
So, today, Saturday, November 1st, what happened today that was something good and positive?
