Belated edition, since my December delight for 5 December was going to see a fun show at Centre Stage called Let It Snow, then retiring to the locale pub with friends from the show and not leaving said pub til 2am this morning. Nice party, good company, enjoyable play. It had it all.

Today's December delight was a lovely breakfast out, followed by buying wood for the firepit, then coming home to this lovely on Pinterest:

[livejournal.com profile] toblass very graciously looked the artist up for me The artist's name is Greyevilowl and his/her work can be found on dA I loved it.

Off to watch Victoria Wood With All The Trimmings, another seasonal delight.

I can't believe it's been a week already since we returned from visiting [livejournal.com profile] hechicera, but alas, it is. To our credit, we have kept up with the resolutions we made on the long journey home, and it has helped so much. I'm going to watch some Christmas videos tonight, and maybe knit a little while I do.

I also found this really cool meme today, and it reminded me of why I first came to LJ lo these many years ago (has it already been 5 years? Why, yes, it has!)

I have also made a resolution to cut out the crap on Facebook. I do like going on there to read about my friends and family and what they are doing. Whether it's happy news or not so happy, I want to be there for them. What I don't want to deal with is the increasing onslaught of political, religious and social blackmail that has taken over FB. I have been bombarded with bad news I can do nothing about, and feel that I don't have enough of what it takes to survive the weight of all that morality. So I'm just accepting the good stuff and overlooking the bad. Hey, it's my feed; I'm not going to allow people to tell me how I should vote, thing, worship or stand, and the whys interest me even less. If a friend is going through a tough time, I want them to know they are in my thoughts and I am wishing the best for them, but this mass social Inquisitorial Squad is doing my nut in. The delight in all of this is a relatively clean feed, full of pretty pictures, funny jokes and baby animals. That's all I'm prepared to deal with globally.

Just came in from sitting in front of the firepit. I never had much experience with fires, but I'm pretty good at this one. It's no real fun alone, though. TheHubs™ was at play rehearsal and got home just as the last of the embers was starting to fade.

I was also delighted to discover again this excellent animated version of A Christmas Carol. It is said to have derived its 'look' from 1800s engravings by Richard Williams. I remember seeing it as a child and being haunted by poor Marley's ghost, and from the pitiful figures of Ignorance and Want skulking beneath Christmas Present's robe. It's rather short, but I hope you'll enjoy it.

I am delighted that we have just published our 12th Podcast of Teddy & The Bassman - Christmas Edition. It's very Christmassy and full of our favourite music, vintage radio Christmas programs and commercials, a special Christmas poem by TheHubs™ and a short story from yours truly about Christmas memories. I think I'm more proud of this one than any of the others simply because it is probably the most personal. I hope you will give it a listen - no contraversy, just Christmas scmaltz and good cheer.
