Well, it took me all day, but I've managed to upload Her Minder onto smashwords.com, and have already sold a copy in the first hour it was available! It is available in all e-book formats, and I'm dead excited. I've got an ISBN number and everything! I are a published author. They also have the means in which to 'train' you to read audiobooks for it, and the Hubs has already agreed to read it for me.

I'm pretty happy over that. Yep. Worth the day it took me to get it in the proper format and get it uploaded. Smashwords is actually a  pretty cool site for uploading e-books. They are dead helpful, and walk you through every step of the way in meticulous understandable-for-even-me detail.

You can look it up HERE. Any reviews would be gratefully appreciated.

Thank you, sweetie - I had no idea about this site until Shiv sent out a rec yesterday for another writer's story, and I went on and was blown away. I had to do some serious format changes to the actual file, which is what took so much time, but once it's approved I can really fly with it.

I'm hoping it will continue to grow - as I mentioned to Sempra, once the manuscript has been approved as properly formatted, it will then be distributed to Sony, Apple, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and a couple of other places - these sales have just been from the Smashwords website.

I hope you are right - and this is just from being sold on the site itself. As soon as the manuscript has been pronounced correctly formatted, it will be available on Amazon, B&N, Apple, Sony, all sorts of folks.

Thank you! I'm absurdly proud of it, and totally in love with the characters. I'm really pathetic about it, really.

Thank you so much - BTW, are you planning on doing the NaNoWriMo this year?

I don;t have plans as of this moment. My NaNoNovel is still sitting in pieces on my harddrive looking uncannily like and old jalopy in someone's yard that they swear they will fix up someday. Meanwhile, weeds are growing up through the engine.

The heartburn involved was kind of horrifying and when I hit the wall, my self-confidence shattered, and I was stuck with the mind-numbing realization that I was really just a hairstylist.

I might do NaNo again. Or I might shove my hand in a blender instead...

Oh sweetie, you may be the best hairstylist on the planet, but you are definitely one of the most talented writers I've ever had the privilege of reading.

I know how amazing you are - when you're on your game, you are unbeatable. I hope that you will give it a try - remember the fantastic stuff that came after last year's NaNo? Free Fall? OMAM? Practical Solutions? Yea, though I walk (which was so good it was scary). perhaps NaNo itself wasn't fun, but you came back with a vengeance.

I'm thinking about doing it, as verbose as I am, and I've promised to do something original with Sempraseverus, so I may pick your brain about it one day.

I'm still waiting to hear about the epic meltdown a few weeks ago :)

You're brilliant. Full stop. Brilliant. Don't forget that part. Brilliant.

I would recommend it, honestly. It was an amazing ordeal. For me, it wasn't the word count, and it won't be for you either. We are verbose, and prolific. What I ran into was I tried to do what you have already done, write an original novel. However, I write something completely different from what I had been dabbling with in fanfiction (Sociological Sci Fi) and found my idea was bigger than my talent. I basically did my 50k, shoved my novel into a corner, and fled back to my comfort zone (SS/HG)

Playing with other people's puppets is incredibly fun, but I found out the hard way that it is also a crutch. When I had to create everything from scratch, I failed. If I do try Nano again, I could cop out and chose to do a SS/HG, I wrote OMAM in twenty-five days, or I could build up the courage to try and stretch again. I just fear I might not survive the leap if I face-plant a second time.

As for my melt-down, it is definitely chuckle-worthy. Poke me after the reveal and I'll tell you the tale.

Her Minder is awesome, Teddy. I read the Prologue, and Chapters 1 and 2. *applauds* You go, girl! You're on the way now, and I'll be cheering you on right along.

*Hugely proud of You -- Vastly Happy for You*
