An Offer To Help

I know we're all deeply, deeply concerned about mischievous_t right now, and no doubt many of you feel as helpless as I do.

Being unemployed at the moment, I have a bit of time on my hands, and the means to put together (we're pretty sure, at least) a 'studio' to record some fics. I don't know if she even likes mine, but I thought I could at least find a few in her favourites section to record. I have a fairly decent speaking voice and have done some reading before.

If anyone would like for me to record their fics, please let me know. While I can't guarantee I can get all of them, at least maybe I can do this one tiny thing for her. I will only record with the author's express permission. I wouldn't dare put anything down without it, no matter how much I love the story!

Just send me a link on your fics you'd like for me to read, and if you'd like to hear my voice first, message me with a request with your phone number and I'll give you an obscene phone call. I also do a very passable British accent (I lived there for 10 years and live with a Brit, so I'm okay).

It's the only tiny way I can do anything to help, but I can at least do that.

I'm following along in smokingbaby and I've already signed up for quilt blocks. Merlin knows I have enough fabric. I only asked about the Exchange because I could have swiped a couple of prompts from her and made art. But alas, no prompts. :P I shall have to be contect to drag the sewing machine out of the corner andmake quilt blocks then. :D

I don't know T personally but I am deeply touched by what you are doing. I love fandom for being so much more than just fandom.

I suppose she does not at all go for anything else than GH/SS? I'd have some Dramione and Lumione to offer. Unfortunately, my only HG/SS story is loooong and so far unfinished :(

I have to sound a note of caution - I do not think that it is right to podfic someone's work without their permission.

And some people do not want their work podficced , and that should be respected, nor should it be subject to adverse opinion in the event they refuse.

I could not agree more, Shiv, and I really should have made that clearer on the original note. I would never podfic without the author's permission. It was just a service I offered since I've got time on my hands and some recording equipment. I have updated my original posting to reflect this a little more clearly.

I freeze at the mere thought of recording equipment and I don't think I'd ever dare to record anything in English (nor would anyone want to listen to it), so if you have the time, I'd be incredibly thankful for it.

All my fics (ff.net has the most thorough list; all the HP ones are SSHG) are fair game. I don't really know what T would enjoy, but as she is fond of cats, I'm thinking of perhaps Meetings and Explorations, two shortish and light-hearted fics (~3000 words each) featuring Crookshanks in addition to SS & HG.

Teddy, you are so damned awesome! I don't know T, but I've enjoyed her comments on other's posts and reading her reviews.

I have only posted one story and it's on TPP. It's a short humorous one-shot, about 6000 words, but I think it might make her smile... and if I could help her to laugh, it would make me feel great... cuz right now I'm feeling pretty useless in this situation.
