... to finishing my exchange fic. It's really all over but the shouting, which is probably what Jules will be doing on the last two chapters. If I've done my job.

Seriously, I fretted through this story; I knew it was a good prompt, I know I'm a decent writer, but putting it all together with everything Real Life was throwing at me really had the old insecurity-ometer pegging the dial.

You know what fixed it? My beta. My clever, uncompromising, tell-it-like-it-is, right-on-the-money beta, stgulik , the patron saint of insecure writers. Bless her. If you like this fic (and I hope you will), just know that it would not be a tenth as good as it is without her intervention, encouragement and sparkling wit. Remind me to tell you about the best email I have ever received. It has sat by my laptop during the writing of this fic and has gotten me inspired more times than I can count.

Thank you, Jules, for making my first Exchange experience one that I will never forget - for all the right reasons. If there is a beta heaven, you will be among the archangels.

WooHoo! Good for you, I'm so looking forward to reading it and all the exchange fics, it's so exciting to have new stories with our favorite twosomes( or in some cases threesomes). But I'm also jealous that you are nearly done. I have been working on mine all day, but I still have a ways to go.(halfway through chapter 4 of approx 6 chapters) I need to get my butt in gear as I have to start my LBB fic and then finish my TPP auction fic too. Must write... must write... must write... must write!

I know, I still owe Droxy a TPP fic from January! It's a great prompt, but I've rewritten the beginning three times and still don't quite have it yet - and I have got to finish Lay Me Low before I lose my mind - and I have an original fic project with Sempra, and...

I also started another prompt from my recipient before I got well into the main prompt, and I'd like to finish it, so maybe one of these days I'll get everything done!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to reveal it until after the exchange fics are revealed, but suffice to say it made me laugh my head off, and inspired me to continue and write a story that has made me very proud. She's a great beta, and a superb sounding board.

And, except for the closing statements, I'm done, and I know how JKR felt when she typed, "The End" on her first book. I feel like I've made something special.
