because I am kin to one - my cousin Jimmy came by last night and after 3 hours we had almost half of the floor down. I feel better about that. It looks good; I'll send a photo when all is said and done.

I think I should have an 'irony' button on my keyboard. I apologise for all of the folks that were worried when I made the remark about repossessing the house. I think we will be okay about that; our 'mortgage' is 1/5 of the value of the house and is $70 a month; we won't lose the house. I was in a funk and it was meant to be flippant and I apologise that it came out that we were genuinely worried about it.

Not that I'm not worried about finding a job - I am. I only want/need a part-time job and there are some out there. I started the application process this week and will start getting aggressive with it once this house shit is done, which shouldn't be much longer. Jimmy came in, looked around (bless his handsome heart - he's one of the goodlooking Teddys in the family) and said, "Nah, it's no problem". He came straight from work with all his tools including a table saw, and worked for over three hours until we were past the worst of the subsidence. It's going swimmingly now.

Thanks you to all my dear precious understanding and patient friends for lending shoulders, giving hugs, advice and virtual ice creams. You are the best. I am starting to feel sweet Dahlra's voice again and the writing is coming back gradually. I actually sent a chapter to Jules and said "Is this smutty enough?" She quipped, "It says something about our hobby when you have to ask if it has enough pr0n in it."

That is true. He is trying very hard to keep me focused. I'm still not quite at writing speed yet - I think I am too distracted by the state of the house and the mess, but we've made amazing progress in the last two days, thanks to Jimmy. He works outside as a lineman all day for BellSouth, then spends another four hours here with us getting this done - he is an angel. We are going to have to find something very special for him and his wife to show our appreciation.

We are tired, but it's a happy tired. I think once the house is in order again, the writing will come - it's just straining on the leash, but it's not quite there yet. I did write a nice bit of dictation today, though, so things are loosening up :)

Thanks, dicky - it sounds like y'all are almost ready to move - I know it is stressful, so hang in there.

I'm glad things aren't as bad as they seemed. But I understand Weasleyitis, having had very little money for most of my life. And an irony button would be nice, and we must all turn on our sarcasm sensors.

Yep, I'm not one for wanting the moon, but I do want stuff to work for me. We just didn't know what we were doing - now we do, and the house is going to be lovely when we finish, which will be by this weekend.

I'm glad that things are not as bad as they sounded. Well, I usually make everything 10 times worse when I bitch and moan. And having no money sucks. Really. I know. I had to drop out of uni because of it. Or as my dad says: 'money is not an issue. We don't have any'

But good for your cousin. Sometimes I just can't but say thank god for having a big family, and that they supported us in the past couple of years.

So, this new fic... when and where will it be posted? And is it finished? You know I love your fics. Especially the smutty ones =)

Love, Blue

Thanks, Blue. The fic is for the SS/HG Exchange, and it will be posted here and hopefully on Ashwinder. It has been hard; I love the prompt, but I think I am being a bit too tame with it; that's why I wanted some feedback from Jules, my beta. She is always honest with me, and I think she will get me back on track.

I'm glad you like lots of feedback ... though today's email from may challenge that viewpoint!

Not at all, babe. It makes things make more sense. I have been so distracted as of late, I couldn't see the forest for the trees. I have just emailed you about it - I read your notes and agree 100%.

Jimmy is a great guy. I hate to ask for help from family, because they will always jump to help me and I'm like my Mom - we don't like having to bother the family for things, but this was a case of desperation. We just didn't know enough of what we were doing to know if we were at fault, the house was at fault or the boards. We learned it was us! Now that we know what we are doing, it has gone much smoother.
