The Pedulum Swings Like England Do
Jan. 16th, 2011 11:08 amFeeling remarkably calmer and serene right now. No real change in the situation, but I don't feel so mashed down by itStoday. All your good vibes and karma have come home to roost, and I send it back to you as fast as I can.
I set up a Facebook account today. Please feel free to friend me. When you set up, it asks if you wish to friend everyone in you email account, so I just recklessly said yes, not thinking I should ask first. I really need to stop being so impulsive and start being a little more considerate.
I finally fixed the latest chapter of Lay Me Low and sent it to Ashwinder (I think it was a record - only 5 mistakes, but they were so glaring a monkey in English 101 would have spotted them), and I was a little trepidacious, but the reivews were ecstatic. I'm at a real impasse with this story, and I have promised myself I would never leave one, but I need to write a bridging chapter and it just won't allow itself to be written.
I plan to tidy up today. We've got mattresses lying around in the front room, waiting for us to get Kat's room ready for hers and James' trip from the UK next month. Right now, we look like a white trash yard sale waiting to happen.
I'm in a crafty mood. Y'all are so creative, and I see things here that just inspire the pants off me, and I haven't a clue where to start .I think it might be time for another scrapbook (Yes, I'm one of those). I did a really cool one for the band I used to be in with the Hubs (If you are up for a giggle, you can visit their website and see pics of me in my last lifetime, playing the piano and singing backing vox and I think one of my songs is still on their sample play at the bottom of the page. The band is Road Dog Jackson, and they still play in the UK. Sorry, shameless ego trip over!)
Yes, a scrapbook. Or a picture book on Lulu.com. I don't know. Something to do with my hands. Droxy's challenge story is percolating along nicely, about 13K words so far, just getting started. This might end up being a a right old story. And, no, Droxy, I won't kill Snape. He might end up killing me eventually, but I'm not gonna kill him. I will, however, make him suffer. He does it so beautifully under my whip!
The Ectopics are easing off a bit, and that makes me feel physically better. I seem to remember feeling almost high when they stopped a few years back when it got so bad. I guess the body was so relieved to be back to normal I sort of felt like I had runner's high or the JBL endorphins.
The snow is over, but there is still a huge amount of ground cover at our house. It looks like massive sheets of Lallique glass, all shiny and iridescent. It's already 41 degrees, so I don't see it lasting much longer, but it was pretty while it lasted, even though it cost us. The cats are restless and bored, and have spent the morning staring moodily out at the snow or swatting at each other, real 'handbags at dawn' stylee.
Well, I haven't insulted Irishredlass in a couple of days, so I'm off to fire up the Keurig and have a pod coffee to her health, and see if I can't channel some of this restless energy into something physical. Pancakes, I think, may be the breakfast of choice for the day.
