teddy_radiatorThis week is NOT turning out like it's supposed to. Monday - telly died- out of warranty. Tuesday, the Hub's birthday is overwhelmingly underwhelming for the poor bloke - he can't watch telly, we can't afford to buy anything fun. The car is shuddering around and needs a new tune up and oil change. Wednesday, we start taking up the floor and attempt to install the laminate. The floor underlay is too thick. Thursday, we take up underlay to find a huge crack in the middle of our concrete floor. Today we make yet another attempt to lay the floor. Parts won't fit together properly, we don't know what we're doing, we can't afford to get anyone in to help us. Every afternoon we have had dangerously bad thunderstorms which make me feel even more clumsy and off balance than I usually am.
I started the job hunt on Thursday because I'm a glutton for punishment.
Each taken in turn, these are so insignificant as to be laughable. I know that. Put them all together and it just feels like my house is going to remain a bomb site for a long time. In a week we have laid (almost ) 3 rows of flooring. At this rate, I should have it done by Christmas, when the house gets repossessed because we don't have jobs and can't afford to live here anymore.
Sorry, folks. I'm frustrated and tired and feeling worthless and useless. I'll get over it as usual. You can probably set your calendars by when I write these notes of grumpidom.

You are doing what you love to do, write. You have a wonderful husband that you are madly in love with after all these years. You have a roof over your head. You have wonderful, supportive friends that are always here for you, whether you want to tell us about your happiness, or bitch and complain about everything under the sun (we don't mind, I promise). There is a surplus chocolate and wine in the world.
