It is sitting at about 100F. I mean, you-don't-get-out-because-you'll-die-of-sunstroke hot. I've got the day to myself (Hubs it all day play practice since they sacked Sherlock two days ago - they open Thursday), I have a half-dozen half-finished projects, three pics to hang on Writing Nook wall, and what am I doing?

dhark_charlotte  had a userpic the other day that said: Live Journal: The Reason my house is a Fucking Disaster. Yep, I am that soldier. I am as motivated as a tater tot. Exchange pic is staring me in the face, so is DMuse, saying, "What? I've given you your assignment. Off you go!"

It's too damn hot to misbehave.

I can't seem to get anything started, and when I do, I can finish it. *Sigh.* Welcome to summer, the season of Southern Inertia.

On the other hand, I do have some cracking ice tea in the fridge...

My sympathies -- I just have no tolerance for heat whatsoever. I usually just sit motionless in front of a fan and snap at people.

Oddly enough, we are in the midst of some very mild weather here in Delaware, with daytime highs in the low 80s, and nighttime lows around 60. However, we DID have icky heat/humidity a week ago, and I expect we'll get it again before too long. In the meantime, I'm taking advantage of the cooler days to get some much needed gardening done.

They sacked Sherlock? Oh, dear! Don't tell me he was a method actor, and developed a cocaine habit just to get into the part? I take it there's an understudy?

LOL You made me and Trev laugh a lot about the Sherlock thing. Actually, he was just incompetent. He was an equity actor, who sort of let people believe he was very seasoned, but he couldn't learn his lines, or his marks or his blocking, and everyone in the cast was dying a death about it. The Theatre manager sacked him, and they bought in a guy who has stepped in before at the last minute in other shows, and he's almost off book already. Trev said everyone is much happier and the show is just flying now. I'm glad. Every night, Trev was coming in from rehearsal in increasingly worse moods because of this guy's total ineptitude.

Oh my gosh do I understand what you are going through! I am having way to much fun just laying outside and not getting things done! Hopefully I can get my butt in gear before my true summer jobs starts...eek! But have fun anyways :)

I have a feeling we're in for a long, dry summer again...It played hell on our house, which was built during a long drought. Then we had two wet years, and our foundations subsided like nobody's business...

The sun is lovely, but it's too hot to enjoy right now.

Your animals thinking you're there just to feed them reminds me of this lady and her little dachshund I used to pass on my way to work. He was a lovely dog and when I'd pass, his owner would give me a treat to feed him, and she did this with several people.

I told the Hubs that I bet that dog said to himself, "Golly, the world is full of such wonderful people. Everyone I meet just happens to carry my favourite kind of snack with them!"

It is a challenge. I am feeling DMuse practically assaulting me, and I have written a luscious little next-to-last chapter, and it just sings. Now if I can get the rest of the chorus to join in, I'll have a smash hit.

My AC is working like a trojan; I have a feeling it's going to need a coolant injection before this long, hot summer is over...
