1. What time did you go to bed last night and were you alone?
About 12:30, because I couldn’t write anymore. I was alone, and the Hubs staggered in sometime later. He is having late play rehearsals (they open next Thursday), and it takes him a few hours to decompress before he hits the hay
2. If you could be given ANY gift what would it be?
The ability to eat as much as I want and maintain a slim, healthy body
3. What was the last film that really moved/disturbed/thrilled you and why?
It was a film about Swingers club in 1970’s New York called Plato’s Retreat. It bothered me because you could tell that many of the couples were there because one partner wanted to screw around, and the other partner wanted to be supportive, and it was killing them.
4. What is your favourite TV show of all time ie. you've seen them all, can watch it over and over again and quote lines from it?
It’s a British show called Dinnerladies. I watch it when I need to soothe my soul. It is gentle, very funny, and it reminds me of my life in the UK.
5. Whats your favourite way to wake up and whats the first thing you do?
The first thing I do is put on my glasses – I’m blind as a bat. The second thing I do is stagger into the writing room and check emails.
6. What would you call yourself if you could choose your own name?
I despise my real name. I was named after a soap opera character. When I was younger, I went through a stage where I insisted that everyone call me Bobbie Joe. I thought it sounded way cooler than my name. I’d be just as happy to have Teddy Radiator on my tombstone than my own name. Except for my surname. I have always been proud of it.
7. If you had to do a bushtucker challenge (you have to eat insects/grubs etc) what would be the worst thing you had to eat?
Can’t to it. Food squick is worse than slash to me. I would eventually get desperate enough to eat something, but the desperation I’d have to sink too is even incomprehensible to me.
8. Whats the worst/most embarrassing CD/Album you've ever owned and do you still have it?
Some dreck by the Osmonds. Thankfully, no.
9. What would be your dream vehicle?
No doubt about it. 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air, Turquoise and White
10. Whats your favourite fantasy people sandwich?
Severus Snape, Kasigi Omi-San, Mr. Spock
11. What characteristics do you dislike in yourself?
I’m lazy, which sums up the rest of the things I don’t like about myself. Laziness.
12. Your favourite item of clothing and why?
A deep blue velvet paneled dress I bought from Holy Clothing. It is very long and the colour is lusciously rich.
13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would it be and who would it be with?
Barcelona, with the Hubs.
sempraseverus ’ ranch, with
mimimanderly .
14. If you could have any animal/creature, what would be your ultimate pet be?
A really, really cuddly cat. I had one once, named Stan. My three now are lovely, but not really cuddlers.
15. What did you want to be when you were little and do you think you ever will be?
I wanted to be a singer or an actress. I have done lots of little theatre, and local bands, but I would have loved to have had the confidence to go for the big time.
16. Whats the next planned event you're looking forward to in your life?
The opening of the Hub’s play, Sherlock Holmes, next Thursday. He plays Dr. Watson and I know he’ll be great – he’s a super amateur actor
17. What were you doing before you started this?
Checking emails
18. What was the last thing you ate that you really shouldn't have?
A Whopper and fries over at my friend Kela’s house. She’s on a strict diet. She called me a bitch.
19. If you were an ice cream what would you be?
Chocolate Raspberry – my favourite combination
20. Who was the last person you spoke to that you didn't want to talk to?
A woman at our local little theatre who told a friend that she didn’t mind the Hubs directing one of the plays as long as he didn’t cast me in it. She’s sooo nice to my face.
21. What was your favourite toy as a child ... and now?
This cute little dancing doll that rocked 60’s style moves. I love board games now.
22. When was the last time you cried laughing and why?
At one of our games nights with Dom Brian and Kela. That’s why I’m going to miss them so badly while they’re gone this year. We always ended up laughing so hard we started crying.
23. What is stashed under your bed/mattress?
Dirt and cats
24. What did you dream about last night?
As I get older, I remember my dreams less. I’m sure I dreamed something last night, but I can’t remember it at all.

Ditto. When you acquire that ability, pass it on. *nods*

I can't for the life of me figure it out. Although I haven't really been trying, but I figured you would be able to tell me and I wouldn't have to exert myself.

Date: 2011-06-03 03:44 pm (UTC)I love good food - if you saw me, you'd know that beyond a shadow of a doubt! But I'm very squeamish about oral stuff (steady). I get easily squicked about that sort of thing. Like extreme, gagging, nausea, etc. It's very strange, and I think I can blame my parents for it - at least I hope so. I'd hate to know I did this on my own. ;)
I love my cats, even though they are all horrid little men. Except for Severus, who is rather gorgeous and still kitten enough to want to cuddle occasionally.

Do you remember the name of the film?
The reason I ask is that in the 1970s portion of my own fanfic, I actually plan on having Severus attending that club...so I'd be interested in seeing the film "in the name of research"... ;-)
BTW, from what I remember of the club at the time (not that I attended, but it was well-known and much-publicized), most of the couples were very happy to be there, not that there couldn't have been couples where one partner just went along to make the other one happy, but that would have been the exception, not the norm.
And the food there was said to be outstanding! LOL

Date: 2011-06-03 07:26 pm (UTC)It was a very interesting documentary, and I wanted to see what the (in)famous Plato's Retreat was like/about back then, since it was before the AIDS crisis. Plus, I think the attitudes about swinging and polyamory and all the shades in between are fascinating to learn about (especially to see how they differ from my views). LOL
Re: the food... Wait till you see what they say about it in the film! ROFL
I know you weren't asking me about the film, but since I wanted to comment on Teddy's answer about it anyway, I figured I'd jump in uninvited. :D
BTW, there are other swinging documentaries on Netflix, but I haven't seen them yet.
Cheers!

And laziness. . .*sigh* -- that's me. I'm sitting here playing on the computer instead of working on my annual assessment report, which is due, like, now.

Date: 2011-06-03 08:47 pm (UTC)Oh, yeah, lazy. Since the shop closed and we are taking a few weeks off before job hunting, I've been putridly lazy. I don't know how I'm going to adjust going back to a proper job. I'm just not going to worry about it until the time comes.

Date: 2011-06-03 09:30 pm (UTC)This is As Morning Falls, written by my good friend Jay Wright, who is part of the Songwriter's and Writer's Guilds that I'm a member of. I heard this song on a Saturday, and by the following Saturday I'd written As Morning Falls, which remains my personal favourite of my stories, although I Want That One is starting to climb into a very competitive second!
I have others, but I have to get them on YouTube, and the old MS Movie Maker was dead easy. The new one is impossible for me to get my head around. If I ever figure it out, I'll upload the others as well. all of these were recordings of myself and my Songwriter Guild friends.
