Well, I expressed my opinion on someone else's post. Which is not cool, hence why I deleted it. That was wrong on my part, and I apologised for that. I love what Mywitch does; anything she does is super with me. My original message was addressed to her as a humours aside; I don't think anyone would seriously believe I would offer her the deed to my house to draw something I liked rather than something I didn't like. It was meant as a joke and it was taken in offense.

I try and get along with everyone. I abhor confrontation and arguing and negativity. But this is my post, and I don't have to censor my opinions here. There are ships I don't particularly like, Snarry and Snucious being two of them. I would go so far as to say I dislike them very much. And to that, I answer, So what? My opinion means nothing to anyone but me.

I don't expect anyone else to automatically like what I like, but I don't feel I'm being insulting when I say I don't like a particular thing, and Snarry, like SSHG, has a huge following. I'm threatening no one when I say I don't care for Snarry.

I never said that people who do are wrong, or that I look down on people who do, or think they should automatically change and be on my ship. It just means I don't like Snarry. I cannot help it when someone is offended by my opinion, especially when it is not directed at them.

This is supposed to be fun, and when people take personal offense because I don't agree with them or state an opinion that is in opposition to theirs, I can't stop them. But I won't apologise for liking or disliking something, and I don't expect anyone else to feel they must apologise for liking or disliking something else.

Loads of people don't like SSHG, but I don't get angry at them of feel personally insulted. Sure, I'd love the whole world to join me on the good ship SSHG, but the fact of the matter is that we all of us are different. It all seems so ludicrous, but I do get a bit put out when I get my head bitten off for just stating an opinion that someone else disagrees with. That's why I avoid all politics right now.

I have canon friends, I have Snarry friends, I have HG/SS friends, I have Drarry friends and I have Dramione friends... and I DON'T MIX THEM EVER. For good reason.

Believe it or not, the biggest gap is with canon!lovers vs. canon!haters. Those arguments get bloody. Yikes!

ah, I see. I didn't see your original comment, so I didn't know how that went. And humor is really awkward at times over the Interwebs, so I can understand how that becomes misconstrued by others. Also, ship wars. Bleh. And politics. Total Bleh. I do get you.

And people are allowed their likes and dislikes, I agree with you on that, and there's no possible argument to be had based simply on feels (it just dissolves into a yelling match or angry foot stomping). And I do understand you don't like Snarry (almost as much as the H/D people don't like Snarry) just the same as I can't stand Harry/Ginny. But --- to each his own.

Be happy, though. I just signed up for SSHG fest. ;)

Yeah, I can't stand Ron/Hermione either. I think they bring out the worst in each other, and I can't see a marriage lasting between them. I know JKR was building that up the whole time, and the end was supposed to be all sweet and loving, but I was cringing the whole way. (I was trying to think up a non-canon het pairing that I couldn't stomach, but I kept coming up blank b/c I'm pairings whore and will read anything --- Okay okay ... hmmm ... Minerva/Argus ... no, no I could possibly see that ... ... Harry/Narcissa ... shoot that works too ... ... Ron/Bellatrix? well not in a lovey-dovey sort of way, but in a dark!fic, sure! ... crap. Still can't do it.)

Well, if it was a secret, it's not anymore! But, yes, I did know, since I'm running podfic fest. ;)

TheHubs™ and I have been talking about this alot today. When did disagreeing with someone become a personal insult? If I say I hate strawberries, it's not the same as saying, I think you're stupid because you DO like strawberries.

And I felt like I was made into the bad guy for it, which I don't agree with. Ah, well, this happens sometimes. But here on my own post, I will say what I like and if folks don't agree, that's just the way it is. My opinion is no more long-reaching than the breath it takes to say it, but yeah, it gets a bit tiresome when it seems okay for some to state their opinion then grow cross when yours doesn't agree. I dunno. It just seems a little bit much to me.
