I am banned

I just got home from a songwriter's guild meeting and went to log into my deviantArt and was told I was banned permanently. Apparently, some of the Marquise art I'd posted was considered kiddie porn!

I am so gutted I'm crying like a baby. I just can't believe all that hard work of putting together and amassing all the lovely pieces of art are gone now. And I'd just bought a 2-year membership, and I think that has been forfeited as well.

I am pig sick. I mean, I feel physically ill.

Caveat, people. If you find art you love, download it. Don't put it on deviantArt. I have lost hundreds of favourites, including a beautiful collection of Sempraseverus. I can start over, but I don't have the heart.

I have written to deviantArt and begged them to reconsider, but it'll just be my luck they'll tell me where to stick it.

So, I guess this will be my new home away from home. I will miss my deviantArt friends so badly, though. Maybe I can get an assumed name....

Now you know why I'm HERE and not THERE. I wasn't banned, but my work was constantly being deleted. Once it was eleven drawings in one day. Here is what you do, love:

First of all, you will find that the people here are more than welcoming. But you must reach out to have people reach back to you. You can't just sit back here and wait for accolades, simply because there ARE fewer people viewing your work here. The thing is, you must comment on other's blogs, join challenges and communities and MAKE friends. Kind of like real life, only you can do it in jammies and no makeup.

Secondly, you can set up another account on DA, but under a different name. Not a premium account, but a free one. This is just for viewing the work of others and commenting (let your friends know of your name change). On your first and only journal entry under this assumed name, link back to your LJ journal. You can write something like "TeddyRadiator is now exclusively over at LiveJournal (link)". Thirdly, don't bother to fave anything... just put it into your own computer files.

I thought that they might delete those pictures when I saw them... but to BAN you??? That's rather harsh! I'm so sorry that you had to find out first-hand what twats they are.

Thanks, Mimi

Mimi, thanks for your advice and support. I knew they could be really tacky about things. Sempra was proof of that. I just never thought for a moment they would ban me for saying it was underage pornography!

I have appealed and explained that the story for which the art was drawn clearly states the character as being of age, but that's about all I can do. When I think of the crap that's in the other areas, like fetish photography, and then for them to ban this is just so upsetting.

The thing is that it looks like someone reported me on the sight, but I don't understand it. All my stuff comes with the strongest warning you can do. I even explained that I had an underage person request for me to take the restrictions off so they could see the art and I refused.

One of the things that really bugs me is that last month I paid for a 24 month premium membership, which I guess I've lost. It's not like they will reimburse me if they decide to ban me completely. I just feel so gutted. As you say, I will go on with a free membership, try to find all my beautiful stuff again and tell everyone to visit me here.

Well, I need to get to work here on Live Journal doing my stuff. Can I post my writing here as well as journal entries?

Thanks again for all your support and advice. I hope you won't mind if I have more questions in the future!

Love, TR

I always do this with pictures, but I think it will work with only text: In the drop-down menu, where it says "upload to scrapbook", click on that. Then click on "choose file". This should bring up a menu of your computer files: pictures, documents, etc. Click on where you save your text (I'm assuming "documents"), then click on the exact file you want to upload. Once it's uploaded, it pretty much walks you through the steps to put it into your Scrapbook. Each story will be considered a "gallery", and make sure that you link the gallery from the top or it will remain invisible to viewers. Once you set up your journal page, make sure that you have a link to your stories. For instance, you'll notice on my journal page, I have a link called My Art Gallery, which leads to my Scrapbook and my drawings and their accompanying text. I know that sounds like a lot when it's written out, but you'll get the hang of it! If you need any help or advice, don't hesitate to e-mail me. My address is manderly@verizon.net.
