A Great Day
Jul. 26th, 2015 07:45 pmThanks to everyone who sent me birthday wishes today - each and every one of them is treasured and given a happy home in my heart. Thank you,
delphipsmith, for the aeroplane as well!
Today was lovely and low key. We went to see The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged, a hilarious three-hander featuring our friend Evan, who was brilliant as always, as was his fellow cast members. We had black bean quesadillas, and later I'll have ice cream and cake. The four blocks walk from the theatre to the car nearly killed me - it was in the high 90's on hot black asphalt, and by the time I got home I felt decidedly woozy. I still feel a little weak, but food and lots of water seem to be settling me down.
After yesterday's Goodwill store haul, we went to Barnes and Noble, where we bought TheHubs™ future daughter-in-law a copy of Lee Harper's new book. She was unable to get the cover she wanted in the UK, so asked if we would pick up a copy for her. While in B&N, I indulged my GoT Pop!Vinyl love and got The Castle Black Jon Snow and his direwolf, Ghost, who is so adorable with his huge red eyes.

And to make TheHubs™ happy, I ordered Ygritte, who really was such a babe:

I was talking to one of the B&N employees about these little things - they are quite moreish, although I'm not a completist and I take my toys out of boxes to play with instead of keeping them boxes away like a good collector. I was looking, of course, for the Harry Potter Pop!Vinyls, but they didn't carry them yet. I mentioned I was a Severus/Hermione shipper, so I needed to get Hermione to complete my collection. The girl at B&N looked both shocked and a little concerned. It made me laugh.
I came home this evening to this lovely pressie from
lemonade8 - my second art birthday gift - isn't it absolutely scrumptious? The look on her face, the muscles in his back, the long veins running down his arms, droooool.....

I tell you, do my friends know me or do they know me??? Thank you,
lemonade8 and
akatnamedeaster, for giving me some lovely things to look at in my old age.
Thank you all for being my friends. You have no idea how special you are to me, and how much it means to me that you would take the time to drop me a line, to make something for me, to send me beautiful notes and wishes and love on my birthday. I honestly don't know how I made it this far in life without you, and I know darn well I wouldn't go very far ahead without you, either.
