June 2, and I've Already Let The Side Down

Go me. One day after SED and I forget to post. To be honest, I had an excuse. TheHubs™ and I started recording our first Postcast of Teddy And The Bassman yesterday, and between looking up topics, arranging the incidental music and stabs and finding workable microphones, it pretty much took us all day. I plan on making up for my lack of posting yesterday by posting twice today - I want to post some pics of the SteamLib.
The Podcast recording was surprisingly fun, if a little stilted. Topics included Caitlyn Jenner, and begging tolerance and patience from our transgender friends as we struggle to learn how not to offend anyone, some thoughts of EL James' decision to write a companion piece to 50 Shades of Grey from Christian Grey's POV (when I first read the article banner I thought it said from A Christian's viewpoint, which in some ways made more sense); a shameless plug for my own novel and the fun that is query letters, thoughts about supporting local arts, silly and stupid things we've said and done, and finally a meme, because, yeah, memes. The lovely thing about recording it is that we can take out every 'uhhhh' and 'squeak' and brain dribble and come off sounding almost intelligent at times. I particularly like the 50 Shades section - I think our passion about the subject really came across, and the part about silly and stupid things sounded really relaxed and natural. I hope as time goes by we can start to feel a little less self-conscious and just go with it.
Today we add the incidental seque music, and hopefully we can give our network something usuable. The toughest part was coming up with topics to talk about. Podcasting is, after all, just usually a big ol' breeze shooting session, so if you have any topics or can think of things you'd like for us to chat about, I'm all ears. I'll let you know when/if it's listenable and where you can find it.
I'm also looking for a good logo. We saw several drawings of a bear playing a bass guitar, but none of them really fired us, although the concept does. If any of my artistic friends would be interested in getting their name out there by creating us a logo, we'd be so grateful to promote you with our love (seeing as we can't do it financially).
Well, I'm off to make some breakfast and get busy. Wish me luck!!

Date: 2015-06-02 08:19 pm (UTC)Here are some we were looking at, and while all of them were ok, they just lacked something I think you could do in spades. We're looking for something with some cool and sexy and the kind of bear that looks like he might sound a little like Barry White and play like Lee Sklar.

(Technically these are playing a guitar instead of a bass, but I like their cool)
