SED - Day 30 - A Better Day All Round

It's been a really nice day so far. TheHubs™ and I slept in, then had a nice leisurely breakfast. (Note to self: Get stronger coffee!! The stuff we have is so wimpy muscle men kick sand in its face at the beach) Mom called and invited us out to lunch tomorrow, which is always fun.
We went by Home Depot and picked up some final bits and pieces to hang curtains, and looked at ceiling fans. I would like to find better prices on them, but I've not had any luck so far online. The two we really liked at Home Depot were hanging up with price tags on them, but when we asked about them, we were informed that those particular two had been discontinued. I reminded the Home Depot guy that customers really hate to be disappointed by being told something in their shop isn't for sale.
Strangely enough, the same thing happened at the Goodwill store about 30 minutes later. I found a small clock I wanted, but it didn't have a price tag. When I got to the checkout, the cashier told me that it would 'have to be taken to the back room and priced, and it would be a few days before it was brought back out on the floor.' I tried to explain that I didn't want it in a few days but now, and her give a shit factor could not have been lower. I asked to speak to the manager, who apologised, fixed the cashier with a stern, not-too-happy look and said, "I'll talk to you later."
She then took it back and priced it for me and I paid for it and left, bemused and aggravated at the jobsworth attitude that some clerks adopt to make themselves feel important.
We're going to see a play tonight. It's "pay what you can" night at the theatre, so we will get in on the cheap. I told TheHubs™ I would go if he dropped me off and picked me up at the door. Nowadays the parking situation in G'ville is atrocious, and I'm just not in the mood to walk six city blocks to a show I'm not all that keen on seeing. We're going solely because he wants to. Lazy on my part, but that's my part.
It looks like work it finally picking up, but we have to drive all over the country next week to work it. I calculate that we will be in 13 different stores next week. At least they pay mileage and gas allowance.
I think tomorrow will be up early, trying to tidy up for when mom arrives to take us out to lunch - I think she really more than anything wants to see the new decor.
