Guitar Pr0n - And Just For Me!

My former music student, now guitar god, Todd, promised me a customised pink Telecaster at Christmas. Then his gorgeous, sexy as hell belly dancing wife was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to had a double mastectomy. But they are the bravest, toughest, most positive thinking family I know, and Glen dealt with her surgery in the most fearless way, and is now tackling her chemo treatments like a Valkyrie, and Todd is supporting her in the most Husband-of-the-year-award ways a man can. I take my hat off to them both.

In between, he emailed me today that he's almost finished with my guitar, known as either the TeddyCaster or the TeleRadiator, I'm not sure which, but I had to show you how talented this dude is in so many ways. He and Glen are heroes deluxe, and I'm so proud to call them friends.



This shows the painted edges and the f-holes. The headstock will be the same color, and the neck will be maple:


It has another coat and and a high gloss finish, but you can tell, this is going to be a squeeee-worthy axe when it is done. I guess I'd better brush up on my 4 chords...

Todd and Glen sound like good people!!! I hope she will sail through her chemo with as few side effects as possible.

They are the best - I taught him in High School, and now he has children the same age he was when I taught him. *sigh* We won't go into that.

But they are wonderful and brave and I'm a lucky Teddy indeed.

The idea of poor Severus playing my guitar in the loo just sets off all sorts of....things in my head.

SeverusMuse, you are welcome to play my guitar anytime, but don't feel obligated to match it to any furniture unless you feel so inclined. I did like the pink toilet, though. Very...um... tolerant of you. *winces, knowing I have probably said something stoopid, and bats eyes, hoping to get away with it*

I can't play a guitar...but boy, oh boy do I LOVE listening to one! That is a gorgeous piece...bet it will sound equally gorgeous! MMMM takes me back to my wild(er) days when my best friend and I listened to hair bands. She invariably had the hots for the lead singer, but I was always about the guitar gods. I would have loved to have found out if some of those guys could play a body like they played the 6 string.

To be honest, when you said a pink tele, I cringed, thinking lolly or hot pink (not a pink person, me), but this looks fantastic!

What rig are you going to run with it?

I've never had Fender guitar, though I had a very nice Twin amp I used to run with a Gretsch. I was a Gibson girl, mainly. I had a lovely customised dark teal SG, with gold fittings, and a Les Paul custom - both stolen *sob* - and never recovered.

Now I have a Burns Flyte (yes, like Marc Bolan,lol) which I affectionately call 'the ugly stick' - it looks a bit like a french cricket bat... but cool! I run it with a musicman amp - I love it. I was too lazy to load an actual pic of mine, but this is exactly like mine, same condition and the same colour. It's a beautiful gold with a green undertone - but unfortunately, it's one of those colours that doesn't capture well in pics.

I'll see if I can upload a pic of my actual one later.

I actually have a Behringer 300 watt keyboard amp. I'll probably use that (it has four channels).

The guitarist in our old band in England had this sexy little slim-line baby pink tele, and I coveted it.

That it is, K! I'm really going to have to buckle down and learn to play it properly. Guitar is really not my instrument of choice, but I've wanted a pink tele forever, and the Hubs got this for me for Christmas.

What a good hubby! I have always wanted to learn to play guitar, and actually had my uncle try to teach me a couple of times. But, I have the tiniest hands ever and I can't play a lot of the chords because they don't reach the strings.

I get made fun of a lot for having such small hands, but I always come back with something that I heard from the show Weeds. I always say "Guys love my small hands because it makes their dicks look HUGE!" That usually gets people to shut up about my tiny hands.

Well said! I would think guys would love your tiny hands! Mine are a little on the small side, so bar chords are out of the question, but I can manage a few regular ones ;)
