I am just blown away by the response to my SED proposal. Thank you to everyone who commented. I'm getting uber excited about it!

A very valid point was raised by gelsey that it would be terrific if folks would not only take the time to post every day, but try and comment a little more as well. I realise we all have a finite amount of time to give to this, but it's something to think about. So many of you took the time to comment and forward my message, and that was an incredible boost to me - a  real day-maker. Thank you for that!

And I'm 100% sincere when I say I'm thrilled to hear from so many folks - I'm looking forward to reading your upcoming posts. Like Dicky said, it doesn't have to be earth-shattering, deep and gravid with meaning, just drop a word on what you're doing, what's ringing your bell that particular day. That's a buzz for me.

Comments and posts feed off of each other.

If posting into a silent void is what some of us get, we're less likely to continue.

The same with comments that don't get responses...I think we'd all like a bit more interaction on LJ, otherwise, what's the point?

Oof, I know I'm guilty of that sometimes, especially the last two weeks when my ferret-like attention span has been more ferrety than usual.

I need to stop doing that, not cool, because yeah, conversation is good.

Commenting is something I've gotten very slack about - I'm going to try and remedy this as well. And I know daily isn't possible for everyone, but I just love hearing from every one any time they are able.

I will say that you deserve some sort of award for most consistent posting. If it weren't for you, my daily feed would be pretty dead.

But dammit how this school volunteering thing is keeping me from my LJ time...

*L* It's only because I have a lot of spare time during the school day, I suspect once I'm working (and after the con I'm going full bore into job hunting) that will change. I hope to still be around but I doubt I will be posting every day once that happens.

This, exactly! I remember how LJ used to be like having an actual conversation with someone. With time delays, sure, but people would comment on the post, and the poster would respond to the comments. Sometimes commenters would comment on other commenter's comments. (Something I like to do, obviously. I made a lot of friends that way.) It's easy to say, "Why bother posting?" when no one comments. It's also easy to say "Why bother commenting?" when no one responds to it. Comments don't have to be wordy, but it is nice to know that one isn't just talking to oneself in an empty room.

I've become guilty of commenting less. I am going to try and remedy that as well - after all, this is one of the best things about LJ - being able to converse with one another.

I know I've either deleted or changed the setting to private after posting a few times when all I got were crickets. For some odd reason it made me very uncomfortable to expose my thoughts and feelings about whatever it was when nobody said boo.

With that said, I shall make an attempt to de-lurk and comment more as well. Although I will admit that there are some posts where I'm not sure what to say, and it seems silly to comment for the sake of commenting if I have nothing really worth saying.

I've noticed a real dip in comments, including my own - that's something I'm going to get back to doing - even if it's just to acknolwedge someone and say hello.
