Today's been totally snowed in. Here in thuh sai-uth, we can't cope with snow. It just freaks us out. All the stores run out of bread, milk and eggs, because we think those two inches on the ground is going to keep us in so long we'll all turn into the Donner party and start seeing walking chickens instead of our family members. I shudder to think how we'll deal with the 8 inches we got last night!

Here at Casa del Radiator, it's been a day of writing. I have stopped occasionally for trips to the fridge and the dishwasher, and twice actually deigned to cook a meal for myself and The Hubs, but other than that, it's been indulgent deluxe to write and create. I've loved it. My best pair of PJs have food dropped on them, the cats are lying around like dead bumblebees, bored to tears, but I'm happy as a clam.

It has given me pause for the fic prompt that dear Droxy won in TPP auction. When I first saw it, I thought, whoa, am I up for this? Barring that, am I good enough for this?

Ten pages and 5k words later, I'm getting more and more excited about it. It is a perfect prompt for me to both challenge the things I'm not so confident about and to showcase the stuff I know I'm good with. I think, in fact, it may be just what the doctor ordered. Mimi is reading the Prologue. I wanted someone to make sure I was on the right track, but I really think I am.

Thanks, Droxy. You've got me thinking, scheming and brewing. I think I can deliver.

Mimi sent me the sexiest Severus pic as a 'Welcome to the Neighborhood' gift. I still get a little tingle when I look at his eyes. She's going to send me the original! How cool is that??? What a great lady. First class, one hundred percent.

Sempra drew the most moving art, based on Severus' birthday drabble. Please look at it HERE.  I am constantly amazed at her talent and her way of inspiring me. For her to say that this stunning picture was inspired by me is just too precious to me to articulate. I am humbled by the support of everyone, but these two ladies, along with Droxy and several others, held my hand and brought me here, stayed around to make sure I was settled in,  gave me sweets, promised to owl every day and have made this a great home. I feel spoiled and pampered by my friends. But I'm looking also forward to giving, not just receiving. I give great backrubs. I'm housebroken. I cook passable meals. I love unconditionally. I believe in karma.

I think you are good enough. =) You've written erotic original fiction. You have a number of stories under your belt. I've read your dialogs. I've read your angst. You have more than one fic.
I am up to my eyeballs in work, so take your time, I won't have time to read much for awhile. When you complete it send the whole thing to me, and then post it chapter by chapter so you can get some reviews. XD Know you have mimi and sempra, versus_janus who you can bounce ideas on. V_J is good with DE dystopia.

If you get stuck, I can throw another prompt at you. Not all prompts work for all writers, I know this. Trust me, I can generate prompts for days. I'm the mod of grangersnape100 and we do weekly challenges.

Cool! Enjoy the snow! You may not see much of me. Work is going to get hyper intense for a few weeks. Hugs

LOL at Donner party reference! Even here in Delaware, it is like that. We don't usually get more than a dusting of snow at a time. Then last year, we were buried in it. Several times. People here do not know how to drive in it, so I stay off the roads mostly to avoid being hit by the arseholes. Also, our neighborhood civic association sometimes runs out of money for plowing. I'm hoping we don't have another year like last year, but I fear that climate change is underway.

I just keep thinking of Charlie Chaplin in The Gold Rush, being reduced to eating his shoe, and his mining partner looking up and seeing him turn into a giant chicken! lol

Oh, how many times were we snowed in? I can't even remember. Usually it's on my birthday, and that's the best, because then I can drink tea, eat homemade cookies and read fanfics. Or stay in bed, if I want. Being snowed in is awesome (for jobless people, like I am). But it's not awesome when you have to go somewhere in the snow. And a couple of inches is nothing. Here, we can get a foot of snow.

I'm glad that you're writing. And trust me, you ARE GOOD ENOUGH! You are a great writer, and you can make people feel with only words.

Thank you, Blue. It is so rewarding to have friends who have faith in you so much!

The snow is lovely, but unfortunately we can't open the shop, and that means we make no money today.

Having said that, I've been writing like mad! So maybe something good comes from it. I have two very challenging stories on the go today, and I'm feverishly trying to make both of them work for me!

How come you can't open the shop? I think that in times when it's very cold, you should open it, because people going to work or from it may stop for a warming cup of tea? At least, that's what we do here... I don't know how things are in America. Maybe you all go home. But that's because we're used to at least 3 inches of snow..

I'm glad that you're writing, and I think you'll do just great with both stories =) And remember: HAVE FUN!

Sweetie, here in the South, we don't have the equipment or the experience to deal with any sort of ice or snow. Our roads will be impassable until the sun melts the ice, which will hopefully will be today. We live about twenty miles from the shop, and our driveway is such a sheet of ice and sloped that we literally can't get out of our driveway. Also, our clientele will not drive in this weather, so even if we could make it, we would have no customers!

Hopefully we will be able to get out of the house tomorrow. This snowstorm couldn't have come at a worst time, but I can't change it. I'm trying to be philosophical.

Oh... ice. Now I get it... if it would be only snow, there would be less issues, but when the roads are iced over... I hope it melts quickly, so you can open your shop.

And it's good you're trying to be philosophical. And you also have to be optimistic. Everything will work out!
