Today was lovely, and flew by all too quickly, My darling [livejournal.com profile] kmhmd came by today and she and I had a great girl's afternoon in while TheHubs(r) was at first band, then play rehearsal. We ate honeycrisp apples dipped in caramel, brown rice/sweet potato/roasted onion Triskets and garden vegetable dip, cookies, cake, you name it,and set the world aright.

She also taught me a great phrase today, and it perfectly summed up two of my original characters and their feeling toward one another - emotional slash. I feel a lot better, knowing there is a name for what they are doing.

Episode three of Downtown Abbey is really sort of going off the rails. I'm not sure I'm really enjoying Season 4 so far. I'll have to wait and see, but tonight is probably the first episode that really verged on all-out soap opera, and I was hoping they could avoid that for a little while, at least. Oh well. All good things, and all that.

I know there is something else I wanted to mention, but for the life for me I can't remember it - I think my head is muzzy from all the junk food I've consumed today.

I leave you with this:

Slytherin PJ's! Love it.

I'm still reeling from Downton Abbey. It was "real" in a way that show doesn't usually try to be real (despite the deaths and the prisons and workhouses, etc.) The tone of the show is changed. The usual stuff -- kitchen intrigues, Edith's love life, the Dowager's zingers -- just don't seem as interesting/important any more.

LOL... maybe it's because I'm up way too early, but I saw the Severus picture, and just below it, the word "Collapse". My immediate thought was that you were telling me to collapse after viewing the image. (It took me a second to realize it was to collapse the LJ cut. I should go back to sleep. This probably is only funny to me.)

RE Downton Abbey: Perhaps too many major characters were killed off in season 3, and it has cast a pall over the show? In any case, I'll watch it when it gets to Netflix. In the meantime, there are other shows that I devour hungrily: like The Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire, and Mad Men.
