I've Just Read The Best Fic
May. 26th, 2013 12:29 pmFolks, if you haven't been over to
hp_beholder, please run, don't walk, and read Fallow Fields, by
odogoddess.
Odo has given us such a thoughtful and lovingly written story, featuring a pairing one doesn't see that often, but which in her capable hands makes such sense - Pomona Sprout and Severus Snape. After reading it, I want to write PS/SS fic. A lot. Odo writes them as kindred spirits with such fondness and sensitivity, and this is a genuinely satisfying and uplifting read.
It is earthy and soft, flinty and uncompromising, lyrical and moving. Please, if you read nothing else today, read Fallow Fields. It will bloom in your heart like a garden.
I think Sprout/Snape has just become one of my go-to pairs. And I think my Muse wanted me to read that story for a reason - it has just resonated in my heart like a bell.
