Well, I thought I'd do the SED, but I didn't count of feeling so ill. I will wait another time to start on it, when I am a little better. It's hard to think of something positive when I don't feel well. So I'll just do what I can.

We have come to the conclusion that we didn't get food poisoning but a stomach bug which is floating around. It has left us both absolutely feeling drained. We missed work, which we have to make up this week, but we are taking it easy. I felt absolutely fine until it happened, but now I'm just exhausted and depressed. I know I will bounce back, but I haven't felt this low in over a year.

It's strange when so many good things are happening, but I'm just going to keep carrying on. Another chapter of the final edit of the novel is in 'the Vault', and I think I'll have my costume done by the end of the month. April will be for honing my talk and putting together a powerpoint presentation.

The Hubs and I have been talking about writing a musical. Don't laugh; it's not as far-fetched as you think. We belong to the Foothills Songwriter's Guild, and one of the main objectives of the Guild is to write collaborations and larger bodies of work. It all started when I wrote a song that I was absolutely proud of, which the boys liked, but which Chris said, "This sounds like a song from a musical." I realised he was right. I'm not going to go into any great detail, because we won't even be able to start with it until July, but we already have a storyline. There are groups here who would be willing to perform the songs, and we do have one friend who might allow us to perform it with his school. Watch this space. These are all big ifs, but something has me really thinking about it.

I'll leave you with this delightful little video about the origins of one of our most beloved userpic bases: Keep Calm and Carry On. And who wouldn't want to wile away their days in this glorious bookshop?

Sorry to be such a downer, and I see (non-contagious) hugs to you all.

Thanks for sharing that! Oh, yes... Hubby would have a very hard time getting me out of that shop. :)

ETA: Somehow, I overlooked your cut. I think it would be amazing if you guys would write a musical!

Hoping you feel better. *hugs*

You have about 7 weeks to become germ free doll. Sounds like you and the hubs need to start upping your vitamin in take. You spend a lot of time around a lot of people and they keep passing their germs to you. Seriously have you ever heard of Airborne. It is an immune system booster developed by an elementary school teacher. Walmart carries it.

I bought some Airborne today. I'm determined to get back on track. The most frustrating thing is that the stomach flu aggravated my bowels (of course), which in turn irritated my hernia, which is a little better today. I'll eventually have to do something about it, but not now.

The Hubs and I have been talking about writing a musical...

I will pay you real money to include my Modern Major Death Eater spoof LOL!

Seriously, that sounds very cool -- I look forward to future developments :)

I'll keep that in mind! LOL I've only written three songs for it so far, and one of those is just barely a song.

i'm sorry you are feeling ill. i turn into a big baby when i don't feel well, so i get that it can make you feel down. hopefully it will be over soon.

and i would never laugh about writing a musical - i cowrote a bunch of songs for a musical once. i can't remember whether the guy who asked us to do it ended up doing anything with them, though. :( i will be excited to see what develops on that front, even if it won't be for months.

Well, I have a hernia, which I will eventually have to address, but I'm putting it off until I can't anymore. The problem was that the stomach bug has really irritated it. It's much better today, but still feels a little tender.

I have never in my life had any desire to write a musical until now. But I think I might give it a try.

I'm with Toby - that is a mighty userpic.

i wouldn't have particularly written a musical either except it was with my then partner in musical mischief-making, so i did what he wanted to do. it was fun. hadn't thought about it in ages until you mentioned this.

i'm glad you are feeling at least a little bit better. and feel free to steal the userpic, like i told toblass.

What a lovely tribute video. That is why I like the sign so much - it's a message from a bygone age, reminding us that we've always had difficult times to face. We've weathered them before and we can do it again. It's a comforting thought.

Also, I want to visit that bookshop right now.

I know, I know. "KEEP CALM AND SAVE UP FOR A TRIP ABROAD."

I love it because it's so very British. They really do keep their heads while everyone else is losing theirs. They just soldier on, because that's what you do. You carry on no matter what, so you might as well do it with good grace.

Hope you feel better soon.

That's a wonderful video...thank you for sharing. Now that I know what that poster is all about, it makes more sense to me.

Thank you, sweetie. I'll be okay, as soon as this hernia settles down. It got really irritated with all this GI flu bug stuff, and hasn't calmed down quite yet. It was much better today.

Thank you for sharing that video! I had wondered what that icon was all about, and why so many people had variations of it. Yes, I am hopelessly out of the loop! Anyway, it makes it even more special an icon, IMHO. And yes, I would have trouble leaving that book store!

I've seen some really funny variations of it, but it is a great reminder that stuff's gonna happen, so you might as well chill out and meet it calmly. It's a very British way of looking at things, I think. Basically it's a nice version of 'just shut up and get on with it!' ;)

Wouldn't dream of it!

"This sounds like a song from a musical."

You wrote a book number?!?!? Cool!!!

{hugs} I've written a lot of songs, but this is the first time I was told it sounded like a musical. But it is a song that means alot to me because it's about my Muse, and I think that will be the basis of the musical, A girl who claims she has a guardian angel, and everyone else thinks she's mad, until something happens and everyone finds their Muse.

I'm so sorry you've been feeling so crummy lately - since it's now a couple of days after you posted, I'm hoping you're already feeling much better. *fingers crossed*

That video is very cool! I've always liked the icon variations, but just thought the original had been around forever - interesting to know its history, and that it was almost lost.

Musicals are some of my favorite things ever, and if you weren't already totally high in my esteem, this is just raising you that much higher (you might want to get some nosebleed protection, just in case). **hugs**

Thank you for your beautiful, uplifting comments, Chris (no pun intended). I do feel better than I did yesterday, which was a vast improvement over this time last week, so I think I might finally be in the clear. I'm really downing the liquids and the vitamins and electrolytes, so hopefully I'll replenish myself.

I feel the tug to start the musical, but I don't know if I have the discipline to see it through - it's a huge committment, and I would like to think I do have it within me. I have a lot of other goals to meet as well, so we'll see what happens after Con. I know I'll need another 'something' to look forward to after that, so this might be the very thing.
