LOL, This is The Spine, part of the most awesome find of the year - Steam Powered Giraffe, a superb band from california. I'm absolutely crazy about them. He's got this deep, sexy voice, and you KNOW what a voice slut I am...
This is 'The Spine', one of the founding members of Steam Powered Giraffe. I adore their music - it's so quirky and beautifully sung I feel an instant kinship with them. He has a gorgeous deep voice.
I noticed both of those in the comments above mine. I've watched a bit of Steam Powered Giraffe...you can tell a man by his work maybe but far more by his play...and when the two mix --yum-- (swap genders a half way for me)

That's a really astute observation, and in this case so true. Something about this combination of talent and playfulness and personality just gets my motor running, especially when they all harmonise together. Multi-part harmony is one of the great mysterious joys of life.
eta: i did not realize they were from california, and looking on their website, apparently they started out in balboa park, which is *here* where i go to my laughter yoga class! though that was in 2008, and i don't think i ever saw them there. anyhow, point is, they are playing nearby later this month! i have to see if i can find someone to go with me. not because i wouldn't go alone, but it's not a convenient place to get to on public transportation, lol. i wish you were here and we could go together!
eta2: tickets have been purchased. they were only $20 each - how could i not? now i just have to find someone who wants to go with me, lol.
That is soooo awesome! I wish I could come - I've seen quite a few of their live gigs online, and they look delightfully entertaining - I hope you'll find someone who will just jump at the chance to go with you. They are definitely an experience I would want to have someone to share with. They did a series of gigs at the San Diego Zoo last year, and they looked like so much fun to watch. Really charming and very good - not just a band who sound good in the studio, but equally as good live.
Have a wonderful time, and please tell me how it went! I hope you have a wonderful time!!
