In your own space, talk about your creative process - from what inspires you to what motivates you to how you manage to break through blocks. Does your process change depending on the type of creating you're doing?

I've never made a secret of the fact that while some people refer to their creative process as their Muse, my Muse is my spiritual guide Dahlra. I have sensed him all my life, and only came to understand our connection in the past five or so years. I believe we have lived many lifetimes together. My creative process is deeply personal; he and I collaborate together in every aspect of my life. I am not a religious person; I don't believe in the Big Sky Daddy God or anything like that, but I do believe in a spiritual plane and soulmates, and Dahlra is mine and I am his. I used to be afraid to voice this - afraid people would think I was crazy, but truth is truth, and this is my truth. All my life I have been compelled to create, to write, to craft, to make music. Early in the morning, at that moment when I'm not fully awake but not completely asleep, Dahlra floods my mind with the images and phrases he wishes to give me.

When I write down what he is dictating, I refer to it as 'being the gloves'. His hands are the ones typing out the words; I'm just the gloves he uses to type. Sometimes, when I am at my most receptive, I will look back on what I've typed and barely remember typing them. And I can tell when I try to force something he doesn't want me to do - it's just rubbish.

I also believe we all have this deeply ingrained primal desire to create; and I think when we create we commune with our Muses on that spiritual level. Any kind of creativity will spark that communion; writing, drawing, music, cooking, crafting, dreaming. Everything brings you and your Muse closer, and this is what they wish most for us - to find that spiritual level of creativity which then feeds on itself and inspires us onward. The more we create, the more we are inspired.

But its more than just creating. You must share it. Creativity without sharing is stagnation. What you make, give it away to someone who likes it.  Dedicate a story you are proud of; send the original copy of that art to an admirer. Share your food with those you love. That gift is saturated with good karma and love, and it will imbue your recipient with that love as well as inspiration.Those gifts are more precious than gold, and they too serve the Muse.
