Podfic Post-Production Update

LJ is still having some issues - it just knocked me out of this very long email and now I've got to start over. I'm a little p1ssed off.

Since I can't be arsed to write the whole thing again, this is just to say that the following podfics are uploaded in their entirety on Dropbox for Mischievous_T's list. I really did have a wonderful time with these. If you wish to hear them, just send me your email address and I'll share the Dropbox file with you.

And I mean what I say - I really appreciate feedback. Having never done this type of thing before, I need to know if I'm on par with what has already been done - and if I am, I'll be happy to record any fics of yours you'd like recorded. Just send me the link and I'll do it.

I got a great email from someone who'd never read anything of mine before, about a story in a genre she didn't like including a character she couldn't stand. She used words like brilliant and elegance and perfect and beauty - hey, no one's every used those words to describe me until I started writing. Wow.

She was referring to The Sensual World (Ginny was the character she hated), which made me glad I'd finally gotten all of it recorded, musical cuts and all.

So this critic liked it? Or not? I can't get a clear picture.

The wonderful thing about YOUR writing, is that you weave such amazing tapestries of stories, that readers get sucked in so fully, that one can't help but love it - and you because of your work. Yes, there are stories you've written, that I probably couldn't have read from a ton of other writers because they can't picture things the same way that you can, or if they can, they can't describe the textures the same way. It's the depth that draws me in.

First of all, thank you for saying that. That is so lovely to hear. I try very heard to do just that, and it is really gratifying to hear that you feel that way.

The critic really liked it - it was just funny - she was sort of laughing at herself, saying, I know it sounds crazy, because I normally don't like D/s stories and I can't stand Ginny, but you made me like them! I'm just like Mimimanderly - we're both comment whores, so these words are near and dear to my heart. Thank you.

You should have the email with the link shortly - he did a pretty good job if I do say so. My favourite is the Sensual World. I used the part of the actual song as the frontispiece to each chapter, and the end came out just perfectly. But the others are pretty good as well. At least, I think so.

I listened to a few of them when I got off work yesterday. And by a few, I mean like 7 of them.

Your voice is very easy to listen to, so smooth. It really helped me relax after a long, long, loooooooong (did I mention 'long'?) day.

Today was a trying day too, so I may take you with me to the bathtub as I take a cool bath and listen to your lovely voice reading the stories that I love. Yes, that sounds rather lovely tonight.

Always happy to help someone relax and work out the stress of the day. I actually gave a copy of As Morning Falls to Jay Wright, the songwriter who wrote the song that inspired the fic. He was really tickled and sort of blown away that so many people knew his song from the story.

I'm glad they are easy to listen to. I'm always very critical of my speaking voice, especially when I'm doing a cut-glass English accent. It's fun, but every once in awhile I slipped up with my ah's.
