I just got a FB message from my Stepkids. Daughter went into surgery around Midnight GMT and they discovered she had an ovarian cyst, which burst. She had to have about a litre of blood pumped from her abdomen, and as of right now (2pm GMT) she is being discharged. Being the young, healthy colt she is, she was up and eating and already talking about getting back to business as usual. Man, I wish I had that recovery ratio.

Thank you to everyone who sent love and healing vibes. She's a darling girl, and I know she was terrified, but now that the crisis has been averted, she seems on the mend and laughing about the whole thing.

Phew! Glad to hear that all is going well!

(Truthfully, I'm glad for her sake that her first big hospital run-in went so smoothly. Once you've done it once, the next visit or operation isn't nearly as frightening because it's not unknown anymore.)

Oh ouch! A burst cyst is painful, poor thing. Glad it's gone and she's feeling better!

I KNEW IT!!! That sounded so familiar when you posted it. I had one burst when I was 19, and they thought it was my appendix at first. My pelvic cavity filled with blood. They didn't do any surgery on me, though.

Hey, and if she worries about having problems having a baby later on if she wants, I didn't. I didn't really want kids specifically when I was that age, but I was worried that I wouldn't have a choice later on in case I changed my mind.

I'm so glad she is feeling better, though. That nausea is awful, the feeling EVERY SINGLE bump on a road when in a car, the shooting pain... sending mental hugs her direction!!

And for your sake, if you didn't know, every month women of childbearing age get ovarian cysts that burst, that's how your egg is released. It just can get out of hand sometimes. Lucky for me it only happened once during a time of great stress. So she should be okay. ((hugs)) to you as well.

So glad that things are getting better - it sounds like that was a very scary experience.
