Favorite Character: I love Severus Snape, because physically he resembles someone very dear to me. I usually end up writing him slightly OOC, because I tend to focus on his vulnerabilities more than his weaknesses. I once heard him referred to as the ‘little black dress of fandom’, and I tend to agree. I’ve seen him paired with more characters than pretty much any other (besides Charlie Weasley).
Which house? According to the latest sorting - Hufferin: You love animals, your family, and being a part of a team. But while you’re known for being loyal and easy to get along with, that doesn’t mean you’re not ambitious or willing to take risks when the situation calls for it. People might mistake you for a pushover because of your easy demeanor, but they’d be dead wrong.
Patronus? Probably a bear.
Favourite class? Transfiguration, then Charms.
Would you make to the Quidditch team? Hell to the no.
If you do, which position? I would barely qualify for cheerleader. Just the idea of climbing all those steps up to the stands is enough to put me off.
Favourite teacher? I think I would like Flitwick or Sprout. I think Pomona would be a hoot when drunk.
First or second Dumbledore? We were just talking about this today. I’m no fan of either, to be honest. Richard Harris played him too doddery, Gambon played him too chilly. I’m not a huge fan of the book Dumbledore either. I think he was a manipulative bastard disguised as a sweet old guy.
Least favourite character? I know this will win me no popularity contests, but I’m not a fan of either Molly Weasley. I think Molly was a domineering woman who badgered her kids too much. I’m not that surprised Percy did a runner.
Most useful spell? Apparation, no doubt. I hate having to spend long hours traveling. I want to get somewhere.
Have you ever written in an unusual place? Oklahoma?
The word/phrase you know you overuse, but can’t get rid of. I love to refer to a gorgeous arse as heart-shaped, and the ‘saddle’ between a woman’s thighs. I have a lot of phrases I use too much – I’d be here until Sunday writing them all down.
Do you keep notes? Do you have a notebook? Only when I think of something important and I know I can’t get to the computer to write it in the story. I have great intentions of journaling, but I never quite get to it. I hate to write longhand for one thing; it makes my hands hurt. I’d much rather put things down here.
What’s the hardest part of a fic to write for you? The synopsis. I’m convinced my poor synopsis writing has turned off more than one potential agent.
Have you ever based something in your fic on your personal experience? What was it? Yes. It was life-changing at the time, and it was life-changing to the character it happened to as well. It’s in my novel. You’ll have to read it to find it out.
What’s that one fic you want to write but somehow know you never will? How will I know? I haven’t started writing it yet.
What do you usually do when you procrastinate? Fill out memes like this one.
What’s the funniest typo you’ve made? I was attempting to write, “He smirked.” Somehow it came out, “He smirkled.” I also wrote, “He removed her bar, revealing her breasts.”
Do you listen to music when you write? No, it’s too distracting. I do listen to Binaural beats all the time, though. They really help my concentration.
Your favorite comment a reader has left on your fic? Any comment by
One of my favourites was from a reader named Sararia on Ashwinder for Lay Me Low: “Oh, Teddy... This is the tale that taught me about second chances. About sheer stubborn dogged faith that somehow things will work out right. Every word thrums with life and light and - most of all - unadulterated love. Every sentence pulses with the power of your bond with your muse. Every turn of phrase shines blindingly with passion and the perfection of your surrender to creation. You, my dear, are a wonder of this world. Thank you for sharing this piece of your soul with us. I will hold it safe in my heart, because it is beautiful and lovely and true. Gods all bless you - Gods all bless your Muse - Be well ~S~”
You don’t get a review like that and walk away unmoved by it.
