Well, I've done a little better this month about posting, and it's been a better month all round. Thank you to all who sent condolences to my KitchenAid. May he rest in peace. Everything seems to be going well - I've got about two hours before I really have to get busy, so I'll get my December post in.

My good friend [livejournal.com profile] mywitch sent me a beautiful set of art pieces today. What really blows me away is that they aren't based on the fics I'm most known for, but for a couple of drabble series I did a few years ago. I am so truly humbled that they served as inspiration for such beautiful companion pieces. The emotions in the eyes - man, it's just incredible. Please go HERE and give her some love - she's even been so kind as to link to the drabbles. We need to hold our SSHG artist dear to us, and encourage them all the way.

I have been so encouraged by this warm, funny, talented lady these past few months, and I am just chuffed to bits that you're here and palling around with me here.

I also was sent the most delicious, delicous, delicously sexy render by [livejournal.com profile] lemonade8 this morning - Christmas art FTW all round, huh? I will not be posting it as yet, because it gave me the idea for a story, and I want to put them together to show it off, because it's given me and DMuse all sorts of dirty thoughts.

And finally, the long promised pics.

Our guest bathroom, because I believe one can never have too many Christmas trees.

Bedroom. I made the quilt at the foot of the bed many years ago, when we had a smaller sized bed, so it doesn't fit, but I like to trot it out every year.

A detail of our main Christmas tree. The photos here are the order that LJ placed them, and I don't have time to move them around, but hopefully it will all make sense.

Another detail from the main tree.

Detail number 3

Ah, finally! The main tree, with my ice-skate display on the wall behind it. I'm so scrap at photos - I cut off the head.

From the fireplace - this little Santa was a Christmas gift when I was a toddler, and it's ancient. It used to have a music box inside, but that's long ceased to work.

Detail from the fireplace. I was trying to be artistic.

Detail from the fireplace, showing all the goodies sitting around it. Good thing it's too warm to use it, huh?

Aaaaaaand the entire area. This is the first year we've done Christmas after we painted, and I love the colour on the walls against all the decs. I'm planning to put up a large wreath next year instead of the mirror. Oh, yes, I've already got Christmas 2016 in the works.

The view from our bedroom. Poor Bosco is in a box near the telly. He's very neurotic and tends to freak out since his stroke, and sitting in a box calms him down. It looks crap, but he's our kid - what can ya do?

The alcove leading to the SteamLib.

A little display in the kitchen above the beverage bar.

One of our two kitchen trees. The round baubles were my grandmother's and are very fragile - the little red birds belonged to TheHubs™' dad.

The second kitchen tree. It's covered by all the ornaments we had in the shop. All food and tea-related, in other words.

This is a little side bookcase holidng DVDs. We have a lot of Christmas stuff.

A detail from above. I found this little bear in a thrift shop.

And finally the Steampunk Library. Here is my side. Unfortunately, the photo I took of the other side detail was no good.

The Library tree, featuring all British ornaments. I had a ball collecting these in the UK when I lived there. You can see two art pieces behind it.

The other side of the library. The T&TB stand for 'Teddy & The Bassman' , of course.

Photos of food to follow tomorrow!

Well, I've got to get my crap together for the evening. I love you all to bits, and I hope you get everything you wanted for Christmas.

I always sign off Christmas Eve with this poem, and true to tradition:
All is quiet in the house,
The last, least task is done.
And sleep has descended on all but one.
And she who shined the silver,
And wrapped the gifts with care,
Goes to the open window,
And breathes in the star-kissed air.

Your home is so very lovely, Teddy. You and TheHubs have created a very special place... and the Steampunk Library makes me a jealous TeddyPeep. I hope you'll both be richly blessed in the coming New Year. I love y'all bunches.

Merry Christmas, my friend! I don't have a lot of time right now, but to lurk about, but I HAD to speak up! You are like my sister in Christmas! I don't even have a place for all the stuff I own - several generations worth of stuff, at that! I plan on driving the hubby crazy with my December antics for as long as I possibly can... at least the next 100 years, anyway! Thanks for the little glimpse into your world! I will sit back now, with my homemade eggnog and cheese biscuits and just look at the lights. Have a BEAUTIFUL Christmas Day!

Your home is beautiful, Teddy! It looks the sort of place I'd feel comfortable in, with it's wood floors and furnishings that look both old and interesting. Reminds me of Manderly somewhat. But where do you keep all those decorations once Christmas is over? Do you have an attic or basement?

Wow, your house looks amazing!!!!! It's so warm and festive, I bet it's a lovely retreat after coming home from a hard day's work. And I have bookshelf envy. The Nutcracker is magnificent, but I'll be honest, in a morning groggy trek through the hallway, I might just wet myself if he surprised me, lol.

I hope your Christmas is merry, bright, naughty, nice, whatever you want.
