I'm All About Giving It A Try

October was very slow here on LJ, and I freely admit I was at fault - the last few weeks have been tough. But this challenge is about what we are thankful for, and when all is said and done, I've got a long list of those!

Today I am very thankful that I got to sleep in. It's been a very physically hard week work-wise, with no let up, and no free nights to speak of. My PVCs started up, and I know it's because I'm so stressed. But today, I slept until I awoke, and it was lovely.

I'm also thankful I got to help stgulik on her fest fic, and that I had time to contribute to it. I hope I was of help. I'm also thankful my hp_halloween fic was well received - I was a little unsure of it when I received my recipient, but DMuse gave me something I ended up very happy with.

I hope you all have a great Monday. I am not working tomorrow, and yes, I'm very, very grateful for that!!

Groom and I watched "Hocus Pocus" last night! My kid saw us and said she knew we would be. Bette Midler's song is the best. And it's a kick to just watch Sarah Jessica Parker bop around on the edge of the screen, performing her own screwy antics.

It's been almost deathly quiet on LJ. I try to do what I can and comment when there are posts, but if there are no responses to comments or posts, I revert to lurk mode. It's a vicious cycle.

Good to hear you were able to rest up a bit. And writing out of your comfort zone once in a while is a good exercise.

Sleep is one of my favorite pastimes. It is greatly under-rated. Instead of taking away from the work you have to do (I've heard so many people complain that sleep is a time-suck. Hello! You want time-suck? How about FaceBook?), getting enough sleep gives you the energy to finish your work in record time. Sleep is also essential for healing. And the dreams are a pretty cool feature!
