I've actually done stuff today - it's about time, right? LOL

We (well. TheHubs™ mostly) have finished flooring the hall. It was a right pig to do; it narrowed into a point at the far end, and neither of knew what we are doing when it came to the door jams. They aren't going to look professional, but white baseboard will cover up most of the sins. He's done really well. I've also washed and dried five loads of clothes. We have a monstrous washer and dryer, left over from the tea room laundry days, so they are BIG loads.

The house is a wreck; I doubt we'll ever get all the sawdust out of the house, and our poor air filter is clogged with dust. We've promised ourselves we'll finish the dirty work by tomorrow. We still have so much to do, and I've still got clothes to fold and sawdust to hoover up. But I'm so glad the flooring is down, with one box of planks left over and a couple more besides. That makes me very pleased. We've managed to do everything under budget, and with very little waste. And we did it all by ourselves, with a little help from friends. I will have photos tomorrow, after we clean up all the sawdust.

Finally able to comment again ... again, I am so impressed that you have done this by yourselves. I consider myself to be the opposite of handy around the house :) I also look forward to seeing the photos.

I've never been great at it, but TheHubs™ is one of those guys that thinks, "Well, I can probably do that!" And he's been super indulgent with what I've wanted to do, and I'm very grateful.

When you are done, please drop by my place. I'm ready to have the walls painted.
And new tile in the kitchen. That would be nice.

Oh, and window treatments. Need some new drapes.

Painting is the easiest! It was choosing the colour that took me forever. I was so scared of making the wrong choice until I got it through my thick skull that if I didn't like the colour, I could just replace it with another one. Now I'm having such fun with them.

Now tiling - that's a job. I'd love to do some tiling, but aside from the fact that it's expensive, it seems so easy to get wrong.

There is nothing I hate more than DIY projects, so I don't do them. But, I can imagine there is a huge sense of accomplishment when you finish a project like that. I can't wait to see it when it is all done.

I do feel like we've done something really special, even if it's wrecked the house and totally disrupted our lives. I am looking forward to having it finished, but it has been fun planning and putting things together.

Ten years from now, you'll probably still be finding sawdust. Looking forward to seeing photos.

Me too. Now it's 2:20 in the morning and we're both wired. I think I'll head for bed. It's been a weird sort of evening on Facebook. I'm starting to remember why I didn't miss it all that much.

I have blocked almost every third-party website, and after a month, I'm happy to report 99% of the memes have disappeared from my feed. It's so quiet now ...

It's not the memes that are seriously doing my head in. I'll chat you up tomorrow and explain. It's me being under sensitive.

I am in awe of folks like you and TheHubs™ who can tackle and complete these DIY projects. I have zero talent for that kind of thing. I take my hat off to both of you and can't wait to see the pics.

Yay for progress! It feels really good to get a lot done. I've also been pretty productive and I squee like a fangirl for others when they feel a huge sense of accomplishment like you and your husband evidently do, also :D Yay!
