We ended up with another day at home (I told you the South can't do ice), so here I am, writing away. I've just uploaded another chapter of Lay Me Low to Ashwinder, and I'm working on Droxy's Challenge fic, Staring At The Sun. The more I work on it, the more I like it. It's taking shap

We're trying to get one of the rooms ready for the Hub's kids when they visit in February. Kat's room was just a junk room, and we actually got rid of a lot of stuff, but it also has all our music equipment as well, so it'll be like living in a studio for a couple of weeks.

Mouse the cat was jumping up and down to go outside today, so out he went. Not amused. Came grumbling back in, gave me a look that could crack concrete and buried his nose in his food bowl for a good five resentful minutes. The other two tried to tell him it just wasn't worth freezing his non-existent nads off, but he's not a very bright cat. Everytime he blinks, he thinks it's a new day.

We're hoping that everyone will have cabin fever and come to the shop tomorrow. We had such a phenomenal day Saturday that we're hoping for one tomorrow. After all, we'll only have a three-day week this week.

The Hubs and I had a Rickman filmfest - I made spag bol and we watched Truly, Madly, Deeply (in which I cried and poured almost as much snot as Juliet Stevens) and Blow-dry, which I loved, inspite of Josh Hartnett's wavering Yorkshire accent. Hell, what did I care? It was Alan Rickman with a porn tash and a tattoo on the bottom of his foot playing with hair. He hasn't been so dishy since Victoria Woods and all the Trimmings Christmas special.

I found a great frame for Sempraseverus' print, which I bought from dA before they booted me out, and it's going to look fab in my guest room. It's called Hello Earth, and it's just beautiful. Check out her journal entry today, Hermione's Diary. It just chilled me out like the best glass of wine. Wine....I think I have some in the fridge.....hmmmm.....

I would love to see that art bigger... do you have it somewhere I don't know about?

You can find a HUGE res of it here:

She wasn't sure they'd let her do a print of it, so she made a humungous res available. I hope this helps.

,,,he's not a very bright cat. Everytime he blinks, he thinks it's a new day. You crack me up. Never heard that one before.

Yay for Rickman filmfest! I love Blow Dry... hell, I love all his films.

Oh, I had Rickman filmfest for New year's. Like every year. I, too watched Truly, madly, deeply; Love actually and Dogma. And the next day Sense and sensibility. God, I love internet, where you can find so many interesting things and movies =)

Lol about your cat. But my Gizmo is the same. She would scratch at the door to go out, I would let her, she would only sniff at the snow and the next minute scratch at the door to let her in. And she comes in pissed off and tries sharpening her teeth and claws on me. She usually bites only me. And she adores my brother...

Anyway. Hope you'll have a lot of traffic in shop tomorrow.

Thank you, Blue - I had the chance to buy the Director's cut of Mesmer, and I just couldn't afford it. The eBay seller said she'd give me a month to get the money together so she wouldn't have to list me as a non-payer. Very nice. Most people wouldn't give you any time. Thanks for the warm wishes for tomorrow - we're gonna need 'em!

Man, I love Blow-dry. I'm not sure why, but every few years I select a movie out of the blue and watch it again and again. Maybe it is that tattoo.

Pics of Mouse, plz? *loves pet pics*

They had 'An Awfully Big Adventure' on TV a couple of days ago. I had never seen it. (I have never seen Truly, Madly Deeply' either.

It is extremely snowy here too, but we never get to stay home. *is teh jealous*

I'll upload pics to my gallery in a bit. Check back with me in about 15 minutes....haven't seen awfully big adventure, and just saw TMD. Cried all the way through it. It's odd but the way he takes her in his arms when he returns from the dead just had me melting in a puddle. His little cameo on Victoria Wood and all the trimmings is a favourite of mine as well.

Is deeply envious. For some reason Truly, Madly, Deeply seems to be a collector's item in the UK and it never seems to show up on TV, and while I like AR, I'm not prepared to pay silly money for a second hand DVD, especially now DVD looks likely to be replaced by Blu-ray...

Blow Dry, as you say, is a fun film. So sad that the female lead died so young.

I actually just won an eBay auction for the director's cut of Mesmer, which just floors me. I think he found his voice in that film! I'm a little short on funds right now, and the seller even offered to give me a month to pay. Not many people would be so nice.

Everytime I think of Truly, Madly, Deeply I think of the show Dinnerladies (Victoria Wood) and they're all sitting around talking about it. One of the ladies says 'oh I ADORE Truly Madly Deeply and Victoria Wood's character says, "Oh, I couldn't bear it with her crying all over the place. She won awards for that. It were just awards for snot, really."

I just love the way he takes her in his arms when he first comes back from the dead. PHWOAR!

Hmm! I don't know if my copy of Mesmer is a Dir's cut or not, but since I got for about £3 on Amazon...

It's so long since I've actually seen Truly Madly Deeply, that about all I remember is a cello and that I liked it.

I have an Alan Rickman shelf in my livingroom with dvds of his films. Unfortunately, some of his movies were only available as videocassetes, and they deteriorated. We no longer have a VCR, so my film collection is incomplete. That's okay, though, because the initial attraction that I felt for him was actually for Snape. But it got me where I needed to be: it was because of my attempt to collect all of his films that I got a computer in the first place. A lot of them were "out of print", so to speak, and could only be purchased from online sources. This required an e-mail address, so one day I came home from using the library computer and told my husband, "That's it! We're getting a computer!" It was a pivitol moment in my life. If the library computer didn't have the habit of constantly being off-line for repairs, I might never have gotten my own computer... stumbled onto DA... seen Sempra's work... started drawing and writing... met all you guys. In short, my life would be completely different and certainly not as much fun. It's funny how one seemingly small choice can change your entire life.

Mimi darling, that is so true. In truth, I was a HUGE AR fan and had been since the first time I saw him in Die Hard. I am a SUCKER for a sexy villain, and he just did it for me. Then I saw him in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and I was hooked. He was so petulant and sulky and I just loved him. I have a theory about villains. The best ones have something about them that's imminently likeable. They're funny, or sexy, or sulky or vulnerable. If you find yourself thinking the villain is more interesting than the hero, you have a hit.

I started looking for Snape pics on deviantArt because my original character, Elwess, looked like him, and I wanted some visual references. He is a practising Dominant, and I wanted some references, and that's when I found Sempra. Up to then, I only read fanfic. Now my original stuff is having to sit in the wings while the Muse cracks the whip on my fanfic stuff!

Mouse the cat?! LOL! He sounds a sweetie. We had a stupid cat some years ago - I adored him, but he wasn't the brightest of sparks. Mr Horrible, our current cat, is much more on the ball.

There's a pic of him in my Gallery in the Family and Pets section. Yes, he's not too bright, is our Mouse, but he's mellowed a bit over the years.

You don't live far from me, do you? Our snow sounds the same, and is that a "South Carolina" I see in your profile? (*insert creepy stalker laugh here*)

Rickman film fest sounds like absolute and total WIN. Have you seen "Snowcake"?

It is good ol' SC I hail from. I haven't seen Snowcake, but I'll add it to my list!

Ah! Not far at all, then.

Definitely check "Snowcake" out. It's been a while since I've seen it, but I remember liking it well enough. I think Susan Sarandon plays opposite Rickman...

I remember sitting by myself in a hotel room in San Francisco watching Rasputin and nearly losing my mind. I thought he was the sexiest bearded man I'd ever seen! As they say in the UK, I came over all funny and had to go lie down in a dark room for awhile.
