Well, Facebook has decided that Teddy Radiator isn't a real person, and will not allow me onto my site. 'We’ll take a look at the documents you submitted and get back to you. If we need more help confirming your name, we’ll reach out for additional documentation.' I'm of a mind to tell them to shove that additional documentation up their collective bungholes, but I will probably just shrug and say, "Okay, you've rumbled me. Just call me Teddy Raye." Apparently my Teddy Raye page is still there; right now, TheHubs™ is just married; not to me.

Other than FB being assholes, it's been a very busy, hardworking day.  I sent our query letters to four prospective agents today; now I just wait for the rejection letters to pour in. It's not that I'm being pessimistic, but I am realistic. I want this more than anything, and for one of the few times in my life I can't get something I really want by simply working hard to achieve it. It truly is in the lap of the gods. Oh well, some more tomorrow.

We taped up the alcove in preparation to pain it the same deep red at the chimney breast. Last night, while sitting down and taping up the baseboards, I dragged my foot over the bathroom threshold, and realised TheHubs™ hadn't removed the carpet gripper, and it gripped both my heel and the side of my foot. Ripped them up something awful. Everytime I think about it, it makes my genitals hurt in sympathy. You know what I mean. We also have most of the underlayment down to start laying the floor:

The Alcove, prepped and ready to paint. The SteamLib is the door on the right. We're having to paint around 5 doors in this hallway, but I think the paint will look lovely.

The Hand lamp is stained and looks awesome; we have the lighting kit ready, and tomorrow we start laying the floor in the SteamLib. We would have started today, but a friend of ours called and asked if we wanted some free wood pallets, and we had to dash to Greenville to take them apart in the hot May sun. Poor Hubs™ got sunburned, even with sunscreen; it was a hot, sunny day - a perfect day to be outdoors. It also made me realise just how much we took the old van for granted; we could have just tossed those pallets in situ in the back of the van and been away, but alas, he had to take them apart piece by piece. I don't know how much is salvagable, but we hope to collect enough of the safe pallets to build the majority of our bookshelves. I love the idea of that rustic look, and believe me, these pallets are rustic.

I glued all the license plates onto the guitar, and tonight I'm going to place 'lead' strips between them, like you would on fake stained glass windows. Wish me luck.

My Still-To-Do list:

Finish the front of the guitar; work on the sides and headstock
Paint the top of the mantle
Paint the alcove, and the trim
Lay the floor in SteamLib
Assemble the hand lamp

Lots to do this week. Good thing it's such a crap week, work-wise, huh?
