Day 1 - Ten random facts about yourself
Day 2 - Nine things you do everyday
Day 3 - Eight things that annoy you
Day 4 - Seven fears/phobias

Day 5 - Six songs that you’re addicted to

Day 6 - Five things you can’t live without
Day 7 - Four memories you won’t forget
Day 8 - Three words you can’t go a day without
Day 9 - Two things you wish you could do
Day 10 - One person you can trust

Shoot, this is a hard one. As many of you know, music is something incredibly important to me. I come from a musical family, I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music Ed, and I've played in various bands over the years. Picking six songs I'm addicted to is like picking six breaths I've taken in my life that were my absolute favourites. In fact, that one would probably be easier.

And since I'm one of  those mad people who wants EVERYONE to love the same songs I do, I'm including links.

These are NOT necessarily the most important songs to me, but the directions specifically state 'addicted to'. So I've picked songs from my Elwess Mix, which I listen to to get me in the proper mood to write about one of my characters, a tall, black-haired, dark-eyed sexual Dominant. Hey, it keeps me off the crack cocaine and the streetwalking.

1. Big Log by Robert Plant. This song is hypnotic and sensual, and made me feel that way the very first time I heard it all those years ago.

2. Helter Skelter by The Bealtles. This song screams menace. It is the soundtrack of rough sex. "I'm coming down fast but don't let me break you." Fucking. A.

3. Sloe Gin by Joe Bonamassa. The introduction alone evokes the rain-swept streets of London, anonymous and friendless. Joe Bones takes a really obscure, maudlin song from Tim Curry's debut album, and turns it into the sound of a man tired of being strong. He doesn't have the prettiest voice in the world, but he does sound 'so damn lonely', and this perfectly fits a moment in my story perfectly.

4. Shake For Me by Howlin' Wolf. Howlin' Wolf was a kind-hearted, very sweet natured man. But when he started singing... Bonnie Raitt once stated that a strong woman longs to surrender to a man who's stronger than her, and for her, Howlin' Wolf was that man. Yeah, when you hear him growl, "Shake it for me, baby," you have this feeling that if you do, you will be richly rewarded. Honourable mention: Smokestack Lightnin'. When he starts to howl, the hair on the back of my neck stands on end. He sounds like a MAN.

5. Keep It To Myself by Roger Daltry and Wilco Johnson. Wilco supposedly had weeks to live when he approached Roger Daltry to make an album with him. Since then, apparently he was such a bad-ass his cancer has slunk off in defeat. When you hear these two together, you sort of understand why. Roger isn't the Rock God he was in the 70's, but he shows that the old roosters still have plenty of crowing to do.

6. All On A Misty Morning by Paul Weller. I've used the words to this on a song fic. It's madrigal in tone, lush and romantic, and very explicit. As he says, he 'talks to you as a lover should'. Paul Weller's really good at that, apparently. Honourable mention: From The Floorboards Up. Another song that crackles with defiant, sexual energy. And....and...it's Paul Weller!! We used to play this in the band, and I remember my guitarist turning to me and saying, "This song gives you a major wide-on, doesn't it?" Uh huh.

They are just a small part of the ever-expanding Elwess Playlist.

I really hope you enjoy it. I had so many I wanted to show off - it was hard to pick six plus honourable mentions ;)

Huh, I've never heard some of these. I was curious so I looked them up. You really do have a Dixie sort of flavor to your musical taste, it's nice. It's hard to remember that sometimes because of your lack of the use of "y'all" in your writing. All my family from the south does use y'all here and there.

I don't know if I could ever answer a question about music this general, so go you. I would be like "Do you mean for holidays, my mood at the moment, for when I'm a little angry, for when I'm sad, when I want to dance, for work...?"

But I can tell you what song reminds me of you when I read some of your bondage fic. ;D Probably not your cup of tea, but hey. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6C9XQ0VoEU

This was by far the hardest question to narrow down. I have so many songs I listen to for inspiration. These were such a small part. Another set includes a lot of British songs - How Soon Is Now? by the Smiths, West End Girls - Pet Shop Boys, Nice and Sleazy by the Stranglers, Behind Blue Eyes by The Who, Stormy Monday Blues by Chris Farlowe...

I loved the song you mentioned! I was looking for a song to mention in a club sequence in my o-fic, and this fit the bill exactly, so thank you so much for the inspiration!

I have been known to throw out the occasional 'y'all'..

It really is an impossible question to answer accurately. Unless you are twelve and you totally have your very FAVE songs since you are in a tiny, little bubble of your life, nope.
LOL, I don't know how many people will know who Lords of Acid are, but you are welcome. Come to think of it, you would have been fine in the clubs I used to prowl. Corsets and chains wouldn't have bothered you, would they.

Corsets and chains wouldn't have bothered you, would they.

I was never good-looking enough to pull off the look, but they certainly wouldn't have bothered me! ;)
