RIP Toller Cranston

I didn't really know the figure skating world in any capacity like drinkingcocoa, but I remember being wowed by Toller Cranston, who passed away today at the very young age of 65. He was quite the interesting skater, the first I saw who really used the art as art, and not just checking off criteria boxes. A very interesting personality and for some reason I always felt a little sorry for him. He seemed to be so misunderstood, and yet wanted to be taken so seriously as an artist.

I remember him! I used to watch John Curry in the Olympic skating and other such events, and so of course saw Toller as well.

It's awful. My Facebook page is full of devastated skaters hurting over this. I loved Toller and always will.

I remember him!!! I also remember that second dance, with the Greek music. I was a little kid, but I remember thinking he was more fun than the other skaters.

Too bad about his loss. May he rest in peace.
