At the risk of sounding like a) the shallowest person on the planet, or b) the most insensitive person on the planet, or c) the shallowest insensitive berk on the planet, I have changed my LJ page style. It's the only thing I have on the agenda today.

If you've got a mo and can find it in your heart to forgive me for being such a Gilderoy Lockhart, could you please take a look and tell me if it says 'magical me' enough? I'm trying to find my look.

If this doesn't work, I'll try another. The jury's still out on this one for me personally, but you may have other ideas, and being the 'comment wh0re' that I am, I will abide by the majority - don't I always?

Did I also mention that aside from being shallow and insensitive I'm also childish, indecisive and pre-menopausal? Add itchy and water-retentive and you have all seven dwarves.

Thank you so much for that, sweetie! I know what you mean; it's on the right track, but not quite enough. I get the 'meh' completely.

It's one of a list that I wish to try, so you'll probably be getting another one of my 'shallow' notes soon.

I sort of want something with darker tones; I think of myself as being a bit more intense than this. I'd love to do my own, but I haven't got the faintest clue how to go about it.

I concur...I checked this style out once when I was looking for a new one, but it just seemed too bland.

It is a bit plain (coming from the girl who's page is just three shades of pink). I do like the quill and ink at the top, but it needs more incorprated into it. I do like the coloring, though. The lighter background with darker writing is much easier to read, IMHO. I agree with lilyevans_snape that it needs more, in her words, "punch and oomph". And like her, I don't have a clue as to what that would entail.

Erm, not really.

Love the quill, but the color scheme is off and screams Gryffindor. I see dark blues, a range of purples, silver, a smattering of maroon or dark green... something along those tones. The royal colors, seeing as you're a Leo. ;)

Maybe commission someone (I suggest wildflower4evr) to create a layout if you don't find one you like. I can see tea leaves and writing instruments embossed on the background, calligraphy along the sides, a Snape and Hermione header, etc.

I don't like yellow personally. I really think it's a bit too drab; you have a vivid personality, and your page should convey that. You want something a bit more dramatic, more colors than just the solid background. Something flashy, but not vulgar.
