Final Thoughts On July 26, 2014
Jul. 26th, 2014 11:36 pmMy birthday's almost over, and all I can say is Thank You. Thank you to TheHubs™, for working like a dog so that the house and lawn looked great. For a solid week, I've pointed at things and said, "Honey, please paint/mop/sweep/vacuum/hang/mow/trim/cook that", and he's cheerfully done everything I've asked. He's waited on me hand and foot today, and was the perfect host and is the perfect companion.
Thank you to my beautiful family, who all came to our little dinner party and even brought presents (although I told them they weren't supposed to). Thank you to my mom, Joan, who brought a gorgeous birthday cake that tasted as good as it looked, and who gave me loads of money and chili for the hot dogs. Thank you to
toblass, for the awesome Sterling Silver heart key bracelet.
Lastly, thank you to all my friends who took time out of their Saturday to wish me happy birthday. I am so richly blessed by my friends, and I appreciate your friendship. I used to get so excited by my birthday - it was like Christmas in July. Then as time went on birthdays became like ninjas. They snuck up on me and clobbered me with the passage of time. Now, they just remind me that life has great beauty, and every year I'm here, I have unfinished business. One day, my business will be complete here, and I'll move on. But for now I still have plenty of work to do, and as long as I'm around, I'll remember how sweet it felt to be showered with all these wonderful birthday wishes. Night night.

Date: 2014-07-27 10:34 am (UTC)This is such an enlightened way of looking at birthdays. I'm afraid that I'm not quite at that juncture yet, but you provide a fine example of how to look upon it with gratitude and love. Thank you for being here among us, Teddy. You are greatly loved.

Date: 2014-07-28 05:04 am (UTC)Your hubby is definitely a keeper, isn't he? There aren't too many around like him, more's the pity.
Tell him I'm incredibly jealous and if he ever finds he has a long lost twin in Australia, to let me know!
