This Is All stgulik's Fault

Well, she's been on me to broaden my fanfic reading, and so I decided to give this fic a try. It's rec'd on Crack_broom, and called Everybody Wants To Rule The World. I'm still reeling from it. Rarely have I read something so visceral, so gut-churningly real. I feel soiled and disturbed by it, and once more in awe that someone can write something so dangerous. To call it dark is an understatement, but when something is so well-written...well, I am at a loss for words. I don't think I'll ever read it again, but it's gonna stay with me for a very, very long time. It's apocalyptic, and terrifying, and brilliant.

It's not easy reading, but I defy you to start and not finish it. Then please go and read something soft and light with a happy ending, preferably with a mug of cocoa and some chocolate chip cookies or something. You'll need it.
