Even in the home of the angry agnostic, I enjoy a good Nativity scene, and TheHubs® found the perfect one for us today. I make no apologies - this is brilliant, in my mind. It Quacked Upon A Midnight Clear.

Duck Nativity

I'd say it suits us right to the ground.

By the way, does anyone know of a place in America where I can buy teddy bear noses? There are some great sites online but they are all in either the UK, Australia or Canada. I found the perfect nose for Seymour - it was only $2.55, until I went to check out - postage was $16 from Australia!!! Um, no.

I'm on ebay and can't find anything to suit. He needs a triangular smooth nose, 25mm.

It's because the US charges us $9 (it has probably gone up) for customs to check any parcels, so you have to add that onto the regular P&H. Stupid I know, but there you have it.

Love Sonia :)

OMG!!! I laughed so hard at this, I had a coughing fit! My birds were in the next room whining at me to quiet down! Perhaps in lieu of a manger, the "baby Jesus" could float in a tiny tub of water? Of course, you KNOW that Toby is going to want one of these!

As to the Teddy nose... I'm going to be mysterious and say just wait a few days and you MAY have a source of inspiration owling its way to you. All will be revealed in time....

And you know Toby all too well! Unfortunately, I don't have a Hobby Lobby near me. :(

Pffft. You can make your own! You already HAVE a fleet of rubber ducks. All you'd need is some bits of appropriately colored cloth, wire to form circlets around the headdress, a fake beard, and a tiny tub for the infant Jesus. If you already have a manger, you can appropriate it for the duck creche. Yes, Mimi is going to Hell for this heresy....

They are at Hobby Lobby for $4.50 for the entire set. We just couldn't pass it up. The girl on the checkout went nuts - she hadn't seen them.

OK, I have to admit, I love the rubber ducky Nativity set. Where does one get that?

They are at Hobby Lobby and since every Christmas item is 50% off right now, they cost a grand total of $4.50 for the entire set.

We don't have that stupid $9 thing any more (although postage isn't fun) but I reckon I could still send something from Aus for a lot less than $16. Is the place in Sydney?

I just did a check on the auspost site and it seems that the rates have all gone up, but I agree. I just posted a link for teddy to look at for a supplier in Iowa that should be a lot less cheaper for her re postage too.

I think I may have found the site for you!
http://www.crscraft.com/products/product.asp?pid=09083&L1=2&L2=7&L3=0&L4=0&L5=0&cat=bear+supplies&sub=Noses&class=&searchOffset=x

That should take you to the page for 25mm triangular nose page. They only come in packs of 5 for US$5.15, but perhaps you can contact them and see if they'll sell you just one.

If you have trouble with that link, here's the homepage link:
http://www.crscraft.com/Lobby.asp

They're located in Iowa, so the postage should be quite a bit cheaper.

If you have problems there, I can see what I can do re getting one for you over here in Oz, but our international postage rates have just gone up to a ridiculous level, so I don't know if I'll be able to get it to you much cheaper than the supplier over here quoted. If you have problems, though, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Another possible solution may be to see if anyone locally has any old bears that are unrepairable that they may want to give to you via freecycle.org (they have groups everywhere, so look them up and see if you can have luck there). You could also do a thrift or goodwill (I think that's what you call them over there?) search for perhaps another soft toy that has a nose you can use, or have a talk to the staff and ask them to keep an eye out for one for you.

I love the Nativity set. It is just too cute. If you looking for a nose for your bear I would try CR's Crafts. They are located in a town 10 minutes away from me. Since it in Iowa the shipping should be reasonable. Heere is a link for CR Crafts http://www.crscraft.com/lobby.asp.
