Well, this has been a really fun day! Thank you to all the trick-or-treaters who've stopped by (and it's not too late, there's still a little candy in the cauldrons, so come on by).
Thank you to all who expressed concern about TheHubs(r) condition. It looks as though things have pretty much run their course. He doesn't have the symptoms of aspiration pneumonia, and he's been pretty good today. His body clock is screwed up, so he's trying to stay awake in order to sleep through the night. His appetite's back to normal, and he seems to be back on track. Thanks to all of you for being so concerned.
Well, as a consequence of him being up all night because he slept all day yesterday, I went ahead and went to work on my own, something I haven't done in months. Walking around Wal-mart on Halloween definitely put me in a ghoulish mood, resulting in my very disturbing drabble series for
grangersnape100, The Sin Eater. I literally came home, had a bite to eat and banged it out in about an hour.
It's probably the darkest, weirdest thing I've ever written (next to I Want That One), but it was so much fun! And as if that wasn't exciting enough, it was chosen for the
quiz_sshg Halloween Quiz, less than five hours after I wrote it! Am I proud? Iz proud. There are all sorts of ghosts and ghouls and things that go bump in the night, so click on the shiny to have a good, scary read:
morethansirius is just amazing with how she consistently puts together these wonderful quizzes, and I'm always so honoured and thrilled to be on them.
And as if that wasn't enough, I received this darling drabble from
dozmuffinxc at the
hp_halloween drabble exchange called Between The Worlds. The awesome thing was that my drabble was written for her! It's called Buttoned Down. A real, true fic swap! Actually, I think the same thing happened with
toblass and myself last year.
Well, this is the last of the SEDs. With one or two exceptions, I did pretty well, and I enjoyed it. The only problem I find when I do this is I'm a bit on "Transmit" only, and I like the back and forth banter, but it has been fun sharing my days with you. I love you all so much; you are my sanity line. This year's been tough, and this month has been rough especially, and you have helped me through it. I've mulled and hashed and talked a lot of things through here. You guys are better than paying a therapist, I tell ya.
For the month of November, I'm going to reprise the RED - Recipe every day. I did that last year, and it was fun. I would love to see your favourite recipes as well. In any case, thank you for being here. You are the best group of friends on the planet. I'm honoured to know each and every one of you.
I will leave you with this series of Samhaim/Halloween images:
