teddy_radiatorA really, really lovely, upbeat day. It was lazy in the extreme, and I enjoyed every moment of it, from my ginormous bowl of cereal for breakfast to the great conversation with ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
toblass this evening to my small bowl of cereal as my nighttime snack.
The mouse is still at large. Oh well. Rotsa ruck to him, I say. The cats are none the wiser; oh,that's news.
I re-readbloodcult's sublime Tyger Tyger today. It was actually one of the first epic fics I read after FTPMA; in fact, I read it at that author's rec, as she posted it as one of her favourites. Of course, since it was written in 2005 (pre-HBP), it has a very different back story for Severus. Even so, Bloodcult captured the HP characters beautifully, and even gives us an inkling of the Dumbledore which emerges in Deathly Hallows as Dumbledore The Less-Than-Lily-White. And, hey, it's Bloodcult, which means there's not a word out of place, and every paragraph just crackles with intelligence and wit. Not to mention that, during sex, Severus utters one of, if not THE most erotic lines in fandom history:
"You make me want to come fire."
Made me shiver the first time I read it, and did again today.
I really must do another desert island fics post soon - it's so much fun rec-ing my favourites.
I am writing again. Whew! I needed to get something done, and it was a good, productive three hours. Now that the seal's been broken, I feel quite buoyant, and lighter. When I think about writing I don't have that oppressed, weighed down feeling. It's nice to feel solvent again.
I leave you tonight with a delightful piece of art byakatnamedeaster featuring SS/SB art. This is work safe, except for a bit of sexy language, but it made both me and TheHubs(r) laugh - A Lot. It's called Home Movies, and it's worth a look even if this isn't your ship. Kat has a way of making these two incredibly endearing, and I'll be the first to admit I never thought you'd hear those words leaving my lips about this pairing. She has made a believer out of me.
