Many of you have already seen the beautiful drawing of Dahlra mimimanderly gifted me. Today, I received it in person, and  in it's own, gorgeous green jewelry box! What a wonderful person she is. It is the perfect size for Tarot Decks, and other treasures. Right now, I just like lookin' at it!!! I have to say, I may have to purloin the art in it, because it is just begging to be put in a frame on my wall. But for now, it looks so gorgeous in it's home.





Also, I've been saying I'd take a few pics of the writing nook, and I'm finally getting to the point of doing that. Here are a couple. Now that I have a little better camera (well, what work doesn't know I do with my work phone won't hurt them), I can take better pics. The older camera the Hubs and I are using is pants for this:


This is my writing desk. If yo look closely, you will see all sorts of oddities and strange things dear to my heart. They are there for inspiration. The Long-Haired Muse sits on the right:



While my first bookshelf sits to my right side. There are five others, but I'll take photos of them when they're not so messy. It took me ages to get this one looking decent enough to photograph. ;)



Some reference books, the first two printings of Her Minder, and others near and dear to my heart.


I'm quite proud of my English Bloomsbury set of HP books. I have extras, though, and I just got a copy of the book version of the online HP Lexicon, which is dead handy.

And some general stuff, including private journals, books I like, and other bits and bobs.

Thank you! I have always loved being surrounded by those things which I treasure. I can look at each item and remember where it came from and who gave it to me, and I feel grounded and loved.

Thank you! When I had the chance to put this together, little did I know how important this little space would become to me. But 90% of my time spent in the house is spent here. The Hubs' place is right behind me, so we are always in the same room, working!

This has become a space that I can't live without. Were we to have a fire, you'd find me locked in this room throwing all the stuff out the window to save it. (after the Hubs and the cats, of course.. of course!)

Ah, those two lovely ladies in the corner are two of my dearest friends. And the white piece of card directly in front of them is actually a paint chip - the name of the colour? Silverbirch.

Thank you sweetie! I spend time doing the same thing, actually. Mimi gave me a small vial of pure patchouli oil, and it sits here. I usually give it a good sniff before writing on the novel. Its scent reminds me of Dahlra Gar, the protagonist. Yes, in my early days of writing, I named the main character after my own Muse.

When I first found that box at a yard sale, I knew that it was destined for you, but I didn't know quite what to do with it, and so it sat around holding some of my magic stuff for a while. It had originally had some bit of scripture in flowery script in the frame, but I jettisoned that immediately. And so it waited patiently on my altar until I had a clearer image of Dahlra in my mind. I know that the Muses were using my hand as I drew, because it was one of those times when it took no time at all to draw it. And yes, it IS the perfect size and shape for a tarot deck.

I love these little glimpses into people's homes, especially when you can peruse the contents of their libraries! AND I get to rifle through your writing area as well! Some of the things I well recognize and it warms my heart to see there. All these things must have some good mojo working for you, because you are an amazing writer!

OH, babe, I am just thrilled. It is a magnificent portrait, and one that I will treasure forever. So perfect. and the box is so gorgeous. Yes, there are many things on my nook that come from you, and it brings me such joy to look at them.

Proto is a real hero of mine; I fell in love with her art quite awhile back, and I'm still a devoted follower of Severed. I just adore her Severus.

My writing nook is one of those places I've always wanted to make for myself. The Hubs is a very indulgent soul, and he helped me to create this special, inspirational space in our house, and I surrounded it with the things that help me reach out and touch my Muse. I'm so very fortunate!

I wish I had a little place in my home that I could call my own, like you have your writing nook. Which is absolutely lovely! The hubs would say that it is too cluttered and try to organize it. But I love all the bits and pieces that are all around. Its what makes your space "yours".

Mimi always does such a wonderful job on her drawings, and her interpretation of Dahlra is no exception. It is absolutely exquisite and gorgeous!
