An actual email exchange between [livejournal.com profile] stgulik and I this afternoon:

Me: I'm having a helluva time describing Elwess' tattoo in any kind of graceful manner. I'm gonna need help on that part, I can tell already.

Jules: If Elwess's tattoo is of historical significance, just describe it in rough terms at first ("It looked like a daisy on LSD"), and then have him explain its wonderfulness to Sydney later on.

Me: No, I don't ever plan on explaining its significance here (that's something for The Family), but just the physical description. Daisy on LSD???? You're mental!

Jules: I hope you consider the Daisy on LSD idea, because I'm very stoked about it.

Me: No Dominant in my story is gonna have a stoned daisy on his right hip - no way, no day. You're just going to have to put it on one of your character's backsides!

It was only after she left to catch her train that I started wondering what kind of historical significance a Daisy on acid could possibly have.

She is the best there is. I don't know how we get any work done. I really don't.

Anniversary update: Went and saw Star Trek: Dark....Closet or whatever it was called. Great film, even though Mr. Cumberbatch does nothing for me.  Now don't burn effigies of me, Sherlock fans. I'm afraid he just ain't my cuppa. Now the guy who played McCoy, on the other hand...oh yeah, Doc. Lemme show you where is hurts..... But I digress.

Cinema was followed by a fantastic Filet Mignon at a local steakhouse, followed by a relaxing afternoon of writing and ice cream. Yes, I am a happy Teddy.

Glad you had such a lovely time for your anniversary. We'll probably see the movie in the theaters, too, even though the reviews have been lackluster. I still like Spock, even in this incarnation of him. Though after seeing Zach Quinto in American Horror Story, I'll be imagining Spock as a queen.

We saw the 3-D version and thoroughly enjoyed it. Spock was my first dark-eyed, dark-haired man crush. I was four. I used to pretend he and I went on adventures together. I adored him. I think Zach Quinto does a great job as Spock, but The Nimoy still has some things to say (spoiler alert).

I love the guy who plays Bones. I find him deliriously attractive. Dark hair, handsome, long legs...Can't imagine why... ;)

Karl Urban was a blond when he played Eomer in Lord of the Rings. He was pretty good looking then, too.

I've had a bit of a think for Mr. Urban since The Two Towers came out, myself. I like him in any hair color. :D

i love the guy who plays bones so much that after the first of these star treks, i had to look him up and see who the heck he was. i am in love with him, lol. you have your hubby, and i am alone, so leave him to me! grrrrr! not really, but srsly, i've got major teddy's husband envy lately, lol. i want one of those - not yours, just the one who'd be equivalently perfect for me. *sigh*

also, i think i saw a pic of you at con! on christev's facebook! it looked like your dress and your cloak, anyhow, so i'm presuming it was you wearing them and looking all fabulous. :D

Sounds like fantastic fun! Both with Jules and with Mr Radiator. I'm personally more of a fan of Martin Freeman (Dr Watson) than Benedict Cumberbatch. And totes about Mr Karl Urban. I thought he was dreamy when I was first introduced to his visage during the whole LotR franchise. X-D

Yeah, I think Cumberbatch is a talented actor, but does nothing for me otherwise. Karl Urban is hot.

I read your "No Dominant of mine" rant on my phone on the way out the door, and I laughed out loud all the way to the train station.

Well, I don't know. You were hitting Wikipedia pretty hard there for a while, looking for Gypsy motifs for his tattoo ... who knows what you found out there in the wild west ...

Karl Urban is in RED, too. Now you HAVE to rent it!

Karl Urban is lovely isn't he? He does a great Bones, was Eomer in Lord or the Rings and played Cupid in Xena too. A very talented Kiwi and quite the dish!
