I Heart My Beta So Much
May. 22nd, 2013 08:25 pmAn actual email exchange between
stgulik and I this afternoon:
Me: I'm having a helluva time describing Elwess' tattoo in any kind of graceful manner. I'm gonna need help on that part, I can tell already.
Jules: If Elwess's tattoo is of historical significance, just describe it in rough terms at first ("It looked like a daisy on LSD"), and then have him explain its wonderfulness to Sydney later on.
Me: No, I don't ever plan on explaining its significance here (that's something for The Family), but just the physical description. Daisy on LSD???? You're mental!
Jules: I hope you consider the Daisy on LSD idea, because I'm very stoked about it.
Me: No Dominant in my story is gonna have a stoned daisy on his right hip - no way, no day. You're just going to have to put it on one of your character's backsides!
It was only after she left to catch her train that I started wondering what kind of historical significance a Daisy on acid could possibly have.
She is the best there is. I don't know how we get any work done. I really don't.
Anniversary update: Went and saw Star Trek: Dark....Closet or whatever it was called. Great film, even though Mr. Cumberbatch does nothing for me. Now don't burn effigies of me, Sherlock fans. I'm afraid he just ain't my cuppa. Now the guy who played McCoy, on the other hand...oh yeah, Doc. Lemme show you where is hurts..... But I digress.
Cinema was followed by a fantastic Filet Mignon at a local steakhouse, followed by a relaxing afternoon of writing and ice cream. Yes, I am a happy Teddy.
