Pre-Con Jitters and Last Minute Stuff
May. 4th, 2013 08:58 amOkay,
irishredlass is no doubt on her way to Casa del Droxy by now, and knowing that means the week before Con is finally upon us, I've got to get good and busy today. I honestly don't have another day between now and the day I flight out - I'm working Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in preparation for all those glorious days having fun.
I have to thank the Hubs, who honestly acts like he's as excited for me as I am. Of course, when I asked him what he would be doing with himself while I was gone, he replied airily, "Well, aside from being up to my knees in hookers and gin, I'll probably take the rubbish to the dump." Yessir, that's my boy.
He also told me that he was going to look for a full time job, because he wanted me to be able to stay at home and write full time. He doesn't like the way work has been eating away my writing drive lately anymore than I do. I think that makes him about the best guy there is.
We are looking at a reduced workload when I return from Con anyway, so I am determined to get back on track. I've been told in a very nice way in a recent review that my most recent fanfic hasn't exactly been impressing my readers. Ouch.
So, today's list of things to do:
Colour hair
Finish Con talk
Polish up Powerpoint presentation
Finish packing
Tidy up kitchen (hahaha, I know, but at least there's a possibility of it happening)
Make meatloaf (the Hubs' favourite)
Paint toenails ( I really do have to plan these things)
Compile all chargers, cables and gadgets
