01 – How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in?My first fanfic was a Highlander TV series story, which was more about Methos (A Snape predecessor if ever there was one!) than Duncan MacLeod, I never quite finished, and ended up cannibalising in several other stories.
I first read Star Trek: TOS fanfic, back in the heady days when authors like me not only wrote fanfic, but got it published with the blessings of the creators. The first ST:TOS Fanfic book I bought had a forward by Gene Roddenberry and each story was introduced by the actors in the original series!
I love the idea of taking characters I love and putting my own twist to their story. I even put a back story to Methos, which I had a ball doing (no mean feat since he was reported to be over 5000 years old). After that, writing Severus is a piece of cake!
