I'm such a sad little witch. I was sent these pics by our resident photographer, who came to the shop and did a few photos for the local paper. I apologise for the sheer self-indulgence of sending out pics of our Tea Room (but I may or may not have another opportunity if things don't go our way, so I thank you in advance for patting me on the head and saying, "Okay, Teddy, very nice", and stifling a yawn.

Ah, it looks lovely. I always post pics of little Sevvie with no apologies, and sometimes other personal things. I love to see such photos. 8^) It is not humouring you.

That isn't yawn-stifling material at all! It looks gorgeous!

Oh, it's beautiful! I wish I were nearby so I could come in for tea and whatever that scrumptious looking dessert is on the table.

That looks so cozy and comfy. My closest tea shop has this awkward white garden furniture (metal and cast iron) that isn't very comfortable and it's hard to scoot the metal chairs on the fake green astro turf.

No yawns stifled at all - and it is very nice, especially with that slice of cake.

No yawn stifling here. These pics are lovely. The Tea Room looks like such a warm and cozy place. How could someone visit and not come away a little more peaceful than when they walked in the door. I hope things to go your and Hubby's way, dear.

(((hugs)))

It somehow manages to be BOTH cozy AND elegant! That's tough to pull off! We have a couple tea rooms in this area, but I don't go. I've stood on the doorway and looked inside, or perused the tea section and left, but have never actually sat down and had tea. Why, you ask? Because they were too contrived and fussy with their antique reproduction furniture and doilies and elegant china. They looked pretty... but not comfortable. Yours looks like a place I would actually feel comfortable in. Too bad it's a little far away for me to go on a "Muse date".

I really hope you and the Hubs can make it work somehow!

Gorgeous! If we weren't so far, I consider making hubby take me for my bday. We love cute little places like that.

Baby Ez loved the pics too. He flailed until I scrolled past.

The shop looks gorgeous, and so cozy! If I had something like that near me, I think I would be there very often, just for the atmosphere of it. And some delicious cake=)

I do hope you get to keep it!

We are based on the Lyons Corner House look. Very clean, simple lines. We've been criticised in the past by the ladies who were disappointed we didn't have dressing up boxes with hats and feather boas, but for the most part, folks love our quiet atmosphere. We have several writing groups and reading clubs who meet here.

People who love us, really, really love us, and we have a good following. Every restaurant in the area is suffering right now, we're not alone in that respect, but it is small consolation, you know? But we are proud of our place, and we know that, no matter what happens, we have done a good job making it a place people love to come to.

There are tons of places with frou frou cottage clutter crap. It's nice to have a place men can go and enjoy tea without being embarassed by the decor, namely too many yards of tule, silk flowers and lace tacked all over the walls and tables.

Thank you so much - we have a great group of customers who love our atmosphere. We even have a couple of writers who come in each Saturday and read to each other what they've written that week. They mention us in their blog as their go-to place to feel creative. I like that very much!

Thank you, Mimi darling. I felt you in the shop today - I kept smelling your incense in the shop - no kidding. It's a nice little place. We keep it quite simple, black tablecloths, white china. Very sort of art deco, clean lines. We try to let the food speak for us and we have customers come in and literally spend hours with us. I have a dream that you could one day come and visit. I think we'd just spend hours talking and talking.

We have a lot of people do just that. It's pretty quiet, the wifi is free, and I write sometimes myself in the stolen minutes when we're between customers. I've written some of my best stuff there!
