When I was four years old I had my first crush on a brooding, dark-eyed man. When I was in my forties, I had my last one. Now someone has given me both. I think my brain might just explode.

Severus Spock

Oh, bloody hell, that's just... Brain reduced to goo.

This might just be the most perfect non-Rickman Snape, evah!

Something odd happened when I first tried to comment, most of the boxes were prefilled with 'PONG' until I refreshed the page. Weird, or a symptom of an exploding brain :D

You may have to set up a Splody Brain corner over here.

Years ago, before we met, I had a huge fangurl debate on the fact Leonard Nimoy would have made an excellent Snape when he was younger.... Has the frame, nose, eyebrow, and voice....

Holy moley!

And you know, the funny thing is that as I drove home this morning, I thought, "Spock and Professor Snape have a lot in common..." Serendipity! ;-)

I still remember the day that the Hubs told me Alan Rickman had been chosen to be Snape, and I thought, "Oh, that's just perfect casting!" I've been a fan of his since Robin Hood, and I knew he was going to make me a very happy fangirl. But this, well, this has pushed some buttons I didn't even know were sewn into my brain.

I've always thought they were similar, but this? Yes, Wow pretty much sums it up.

I was four when ST:TOS first aired, and I still remember so vividly being totally enamoured of him. I used to pretend he and I went on adventures.

I couldn't agree with you more. I love Leonard Nimoy and have since I was four and the show first aired.

They have a lot in common, Spock and Snape. Two Half-Blood Princes...

Yes, they do - two misunderstood, Half-Blood Princes...

I emulated him, as did my brother. We called our dog Spock because he often looked quizzical and cocked his head to one side - my stepdad disagree and we were forced to call him Sparky.

Oh, this was even before we knew Snape was the half-blood prince. ;> But the Rickman gals wouldn't hear it. ;) LOL.

Well, you know I'm a die hard Rickman gal (pardon the pun) but yeah, I could see it. Totally. Absolutely. In many ways, more than Rickman, who is more handsome than Canon!Snape, but who had the presence and charisma and that voice (ah, the voice ::whimper!::) but Nimoy certainly had the chops for it.

WHOA!!!! I think I have to go change my pants! I, too, had an ENORMOUS crush on Spock when I was a child. I never thought about Nimoy playing Snape, but YEAH, baby!

that's awesome. and gorgeous.

i wrote a story once where lily and remus run into snape at a comic-con type event. lily thinks snape should be dressed as spock, i think is how i had it, lol. snape did not agree, for some strange reason ...

I'm not sure. It was on Facebook, and I nicked it. The person said they saw in on dA, so I might try and have a look later. If you find it first, let me know!

I typed Snape Spock in the DA search and got quite the little collection I never knew about. Unfortunately it didn't pull this artist up. I typed in Snape and good god. I don't know if I will find him there. I just might because I could look through Snape pictures for weeks and never get to the end of the list, looks like.

OMG! What yumminess you have stumbled upon! I, too, loved Mr. Spock, though my first experience with him was when Leonard Nimoy hosted In Search Of... :) Oh, but this art is fabulous - I especially love the sardonic eyebrow, ever so slightly arched.

NOW WAIT JUST ONE COTTON-PICKIN' MINUTE...

I can't believe someone did this XD and I can't believe you had the same experience as me! Spock and Snape are the "2 dads" of my fandom life... I wouldn't be who I am without them <3

Though I've never met you face to face, I feel like if you get these two characters, you would 'get' me, too <3

Date: 2013-06-03 10:10 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] teddyradiator.livejournal.com
I'm sure I would totally 'get' you! It sounds like we have many things in common.

Because my Muse has similar colouring, he always directed me to men with these physical characteristics (Spock, Christopher Lee, Randolph Mantooth, Freddie Mercury) in hopes I would eventually realise some sort of connection.

But yes, I was 4 when TOS first aired and Spock would take me on all his adventures. By the time Severus came along, I was a little older and ready for a different kind of adventure ;)

But yes, I saw this pic and nearly died of a fangasm.

I was a little older and ready for a different kind of adventure ;)

Oh I wrote those kinds of "adventures" for Star Trek, too... these are the guys who invented Ponn Farr, remember? ;)

I can't believe you got to see the show when it first aired!! What I wouldn't give to have been around when it first got big.

Although I'm not quite sure the reason behind it, I find myself drawn to pale, dark-haired, dark-eyed gentlemen in media as well... Messrs. Spock and Snape are the primary objects of my affection, but I also have a soft spot for the leading men of Batman, Phantom of the Opera, V for Vendetta, Sherlock Holmes, and even the Prince of Persia games (a rare fandom indeed!)And many more...

I love Perselus' art <3 she is incredibly talented.
