Whoo hoo! I've just received three of the seven mixdowns from our recording sessions. I'm really so happy with it that I'm just going to share it with you.

The song is called Thanks For Nothing, and can be heard HERE, I think. This is the original link, and I know it's safe, but it will download the song, so you can listen if you like, then delete it. If you have Windows Media Player, it should download it automatically to that. I'm playing the piano (you'll know why I'm NOT known for my keyboard skills!), singing and the Hubs is playing bass.

I hope to add others later, but this is one that I wanted to share.

The last two chapters of The Sensual World have been posted on Ash, and that means my vacation is over. I've been using them as an excuse not to finish Lay Me Low Chapter 17, and now I have to get back to work. It is, after all a tough chapter.

The Writing Nook is 98% finished, as seen here. All the pics are on the walls except for the big one of sempraseverus 's Hello Earth, which I bought an 18 X 24 print of and found a lovely frame at the Thrift Store. It's very heavy, and the Hubs is helping me put it up. The other prints are my favourite Severus/Hermione/etc prints, including two originals (the ones on the bottom left side). One is by Sempra and the other is by mimimanderly , and I wouldn't take a million dollars for either of them. Each. On the right is Mimi's Severus Calender, which is  one of my favourite SeverusPossessions, and to the left of that is my Severus action figure, given to me by my very indulgent, loving Hubs.

The others are drawings that I've loved from the moment I saw them, including Marquise's Lashes and For Someone Special (the piece that got me thrown out of deviantArt, so you KNOW I have to have that one framed!), and Sempra's Satyr (top left), which, for some reason, is just one of my absolute favourites. I took the pic at a funky angle, but all the pics seem straight to me.

Last night at B/k's house, k gave me her Hermione's wand, time-turner and scarf, for 'inspiration'. Rightly so: she's the one who got me into fanfic in the first place. The little 'Steampunk' box on the left contains my Tarot, as well as Mimi's Rune cards, which are so beautiful I just like to take them out and look at them. As soon as the Hubs hangs up 'the big boy' over the middle, I'll be set. I feel like a proper writer now!

LOL I do not have anything that I can send you, but in my youth I used to perform as well. That was many many years ago before I was of age to enter the establishments I typically performed in. Then, being the contrary individual I was after 2 nights of smoke filled establishments I would sign lead soprano in church.

That was YOU singing? OMG... you have such a lovely alto voice! And you play the piano very well. The recording sounds quite professional.

Do I spy a little pic of SeverusMuse on the lower left of the corkboard? *Chuckles* That's one of my older drawings from when I was drawing in black and white... before I switched to color... before I switched to black and white again. It looks like you have plenty of fodder for inspiration around you! I'm glad you have the nook you wanted at last!

That is indeed a pic of SeverusMuse - it's from your 'body of work' and it's the Hair pic. I was having a terrible time downloading them one day, and this was the first one I could get downloaded, and I just loved his insolent, pouting stare!

I'm really happy with the writing area. I like being surrounded by the things that a)are gifts that loved ones have given me, and 2) inspire and excite me. I hope to add to the wall as time goes by, as well as the books that are flanking the laptop.

I know what you mean! Being a good Southern Baptist girl, I used to take my talents to the Baptist church, then I turned heathen and started singing in pub bands - great experience for performing under pressure, I found!

LOL indeed though there were mornings when it was a little rough hitting the high notes of Ave Maria after having sung for 3-5 hours two nights running in a crowded tavern. I would sing of loving them and leaving them and follow it up with praise of the Virgin Mary... LOL I laugh to think of it now, but then it seemed normal.

Just wow! Great song, and I can't even comprehend being able to do such a thing as play piano and sing at the same time. I can't hear any "mistakes". That song is actually treat in a day and age when shit passes for music.

I think I once said that, although it is not my 'ship' of choice, I know it is yours, and the power and passion you poured into that drawing was so full of love and magick that it still makes me tremble when I look at it. There is just so much passion in that kiss, that even though I wish it was Hermione instead of Albus ;), I cannot fail to see the beauty and breathtaking quality of it.

Ahhh, great story, I have read it before and loved it. It is also still posted at The Restricted Section (www.restrictedsection.org)as well. I couldn't tell by the pic and the enlargement was a bit blurry, the Severus on the bottom looked like he had glasses so I thought it was Harry. :D

LOL But I can't make money dressing as Snape. It's a copy write violation. Makeup/special effects is so competitive it makes engineering look like a talent wasteland, plus most of the jobs are in places I dont want to live.

What I am is a jack of many trades but I don't master them. In the 7 sins meme one of the things i covet is the ability to have entrepreneurial creativity. Meaning the ability to see real and unique opportunities. I really suck at that. What that means is finding a way to make money where there is little to no competition- and that's hard to find.

I can put you in a snape photo through the miracle of photoshop. I even put my girl-self with my Snape persona in a piece of art just to see if I could do it.

I use the Enchanted Tarot, http://www.astroamerica.com/t-ench.html, and I find them a joy to use. I haven't done a reading in forever, and Mimimanderly just gave me a set of run cards which are STUNNING, and she was kind enough to include a guide with them. I know nothing about reading rune cards, but hers are so lovely I just like to stare at them

The Enchanted Tarot comes with a beautiful book showing each card and how to read it. It is one of the most accessible of the decks, IMHO.

Hey Pink, don't be jealous - make one of your own! I just printed out my favourite art and scoured the thrift stores and found the frames (I like framed art very much). The only one I paid any money for was the original art that Sempra did for Lay Me Low, and I wanted a nice grey matte to use with it. The others I either already had or found.

Lay Me Low is brewing even as we speak, but it's an important chapter and I want it to be good, so it probably won't go to the 'cleaners' until the end of the week. I promise never to abaondon it. This is just what I call a 'constipation' chapter - one that is hard to punch out, but the rest come out easily after it's done!

Sorry you can't listen to the song, but once the album is complete, I'll try to send you a copy.
