I feel like I'm doing nothing but memes lately, and while they're fun, it takes precious little brain power.  I should be writing feverishly, as I've left my poor readers with a cliffie, and I hate that when it happens to me.

Fairly decent day at the shop today, all in the last 1.5 hours of being opened. We more or less sat by ourselves from 10:30 to 2:30, then the floodgates opened and the customers streamed in. Whew.

It was not a good day, though. Both our Saturday helpers turned in their notices today. Holly, my beautiful dining room assistant, was going to leave sometime this year - we already knew that, as her husband is going into the FBI or CIA or one of those government alphabet soups, and would be moving away. It just happened a little sooner than we thought. We have her smiling, competent presence through the end of May, then she's gone. I will miss her dreadfully. She's pretty, personable, chilled and relaxed and never gets flustered or angry. She's the perfect person for the job, and having to replace her makes me feel ill. Andrew, our lovely kitchen help, is taking the summer to travel before embarking to university, so he'll be gone almost the same time. He's lovely as well - works like a dog, meticulously clean, actually enjoys the job and smells jolly nice. *sigh*

I feel a little ill and out of sorts, I think that's just hormones. The Muse is telling me to chill out and not worry about writing today, but I want to, and that's a pointless exercise without him helping. It just comes out flat and dull.

Some more piccies of the Writing Nook, and my gorgeous black cat, Severus Snape...he was named as a joke, and the Hubs nearly had a fit when it was discovered the cat had gotten used to being called that by his owners. He is known as Sevvie now, and he is a right little pain in the arse, but overall sweet tempered when he wants to be. He misses the kids; they spoiled him shamelessly.

My cork board, with various pics and notes from my loved ones...and Marquise, who draws a mean Severus...literally....

Ti Quan Yin, the Chinese Iron Goddess of Mercy - the best Oolong tea in the world is named after her...

Sevvie. A lovely cat. Very beautiful, now that his body has caught up with his ears. Seriously. He looked like a bat for the first six months of his life. A little bat caught in an oil slick.

Sempraseverus and Mimi have been encouraging me to try to draw, so I'm going to gird my loins and give it a shot this week. If it's any good, I'll post. If not, you'll never hear about it again. I don't know why I have this terrible compulsion to draw; but it's like I'm just dying to give it a try. Wish me luck

I think that the fact that you don't feel like writing, and your Muse is making it patently obvious that he is not going to help you write tonight is a sign that he wants you to try drawing. Just relax with it, Sweetie... play...have fun... it's not something deadly serious. I started drawing because it relaxed me and took me out of my self for a while. Maybe it will do the same for you. But if you don't find that you enjoy it, there's nothing forcing you to do it. Good luck!

It's hard to draw when there are so many wonderful artists out there, but give it a go. I'd love to see something by you :)

Sevvy is a handsome prince! Your writing nook looks like a good place to hang out whether you're writing or drawing. I hope it goes well and we get to see what your drawing looks like.

Go for it, girlfriend!

The nook looks great - and that drawing by Marquise is one of my absolute faves of her Severus - yummmmm.

Your Sevvie looks just like my neighbour's cat - called - you guessed it - Severus Snape - also Sevvie for short. He's a lovely cat, if a bit of a pain - he often visits, waltzing in as though he owns the place. Luckily, my cat - the imperious 19yr old dowager empress, Minerva, allows this, and they usually share the lounge in quiet companionship, while my 2 dogs, once having sniffed him hello, and received a purry head butt in return, pretend he doesn't exist.
He's good company for Minerva, and behaves, so I don't boot him out.

Hope you're feeling a bit more chipper, and have fun with the drawing.

I love your cork board! I have never seen one like that and now I am really tempted to make myself one! You should definitley try your hand at drawing and post it! I would love to see some of it! If it is even half as good as your writing it will be amazing!
And that was quite the cliffie that I want to know what happens soon! But I will wait patiently until you and your muse are good and ready to sit down and write it all out.

He is a lovely little boy - except for when he's not - he's sort of going through that 'teenaged dirtbag' phase right now, so he can be lovely and schmoozy one moment and irritating as crap the next.

Thank you so much - I really appreciate the feedback. Sometimes I need it more than I can say - I started drawing yesterday, and it's not too bad, but then again...

thank you so much for your encouragement. Yes, Sevvie is a lovey most of the time, very affectionate, but he's definitely in the teenager stage and sometimes can be a complete pain. Most of the time, he's very loving and fun to be around.

Marquise just blows me away - I also got kicked off deviantArt permanently because I asked her permission to upload For Someone Special on there, and I was booted off because someone reported me for underage porn! Go figure...

Good thing, too, though. I came here and this has been the best thing that has happened to me creatively and mentally.

I hope to have something worth posting. I've made a start, and I'm not too displeased with it so far....

Actually, he was very sleepy and I hit him full on with the flash...he was a little bleary-eyed. He's actually very sweet natured, just a little manic...thanks about the nook...it will look even better with the pics on the walls...gotta sweettalk the Hubs into doing that...

Sevvie is so gorgeous!

And try your hand at drawing. You'll never know how good you are if you don't try.
