teddy_radiatorAshwinder posted Chapter 14 of Lay Me Low last night. I feel pretty good about this chapter, which brings me to one of my writing quirks about Severus.
I have always thought of him as someone who would talk alot during sex. From the first book, where JKR describes his voice, to our own Mr. Rickman's purring bass tones, I just had this fantasy scenario that Severus would use that wicked talent of his.
There was a charming fic out called Anything Goes in which Severus calls Hermione a voice slut. I nearly wet myself over it. I thought - That's ME!! I am and have always been a voice slut - long before JKR, long before Alan Rickman, even. I have loved men who knew how to talk dirty well. It's a bit of an art, and the ones who do it well are ok in my book. My Dominant friend, Brian, has a lovely voice. His wife K has confessed to having an orgasm simply by having him talk to her. I sort of can see it.
I'm not as lucky in that department, although the Hubs has a lovely voice. That British reserve just kicks in, and although when properly motivated, he can talk dirty with the best of them, it doesn't come naturally.
I just know what I like, and I know the fics that melted my butter are the ones in which Severus knows how to talk the good talk: FTPMA, For Someone Special, anything by Ms_Figg, or Aurette, Second Life, The Secret's In the Sauce, It works for me.
So he's a little verbose. I think of it as greasing the wheels.
Anywhoo, I hope you enjoy, and I appreciate your feedback on this. I'm knee deep in a dark little fic which I unfortunately don't have the time to devote to writing as much this week, with the kids being here, but the Muse is keeping it warm for me until I can spend some quality time wiht the laptop.
